- "As a teen-ager, I heard John Kennedy's summons to citizenship. And then,
- as a student at Georgetown, I heard that call clarified by a professor I had
- named Carroll Quigley, who said America was the greatest country in the
- history of the world because our people have always believed in two great
- ideas: first, that tomorrow can be better than today and, second, that
- each of us has a personal, moral responsibility to make it so."

- TEXT:
- CLINTON A BIRCHER?
-
- You know how things get a little garbled as they travel from gossipist
- to gossipist. Yesterday we heard through the grapevine that one of Bill
- Clinton's heroes is also revered by the John Birch Society.
-
- Close, but not quite on target. The hero in question is the late
- Carroll Quigley, a Georgetown University professor who wrote several books
- on world affairs. In one, he explained that there is an establishment
- anchored on the East Coast - composed mainly of financiers, journalists and
- government leaders - that is working to bring about world government. The
- group was a branch of an organization founded in England under the guidance of
- Cecil Rhodes.
-
- The John Birch Society sells two of Mr. Quigley's books. Tom
- Eddlam, research director for the group, says the book "Tragedy and Hope" is
- "an affirmation of what we have been saying."
-
- "He is one of the few insiders who came out and exposed the
- Eastern establishment plan for world government," Mr. Eddlam said. "He
- detailed the plan, he'd seen the documents, he wanted it to work."
-
- Mr. Quigley, then, is a Birch hero only in the sense that he documented
- the group's claims of an internationalist "conspiracy." Otherwise,
- his internationalism is in total opposition to the legendary Birch
- nationalism. And poor Mr. Quigley - he didn't live to see a day when one
- candidate, George Bush, would staunchly advocate the New World Order, and the
- other, Mr. Clinton, would be a proud member of the Trilateral Commission
- and would sing Mr. Quigley's praises in his acceptance speech.
-
- ANOTHER HERO
-
- Speaking of Mr. Clinton's guiding lights, Reed Irvine of Accuracy in
- Media was provoked to recollection when C-SPAN rebroadcast a 1991 Clinton
- speech at Georgetown University praising the Rev. Richard McSorley. Mr. Irvine
- recalled a debate he once had with this very same Father McSorley, a famous
- pacifist, in which the Catholic scholar argued that money being spent on the
- military should be withdrawn and devoted to foreign aid.
-
- "What if the enemy invades our country?" Mr. Irvine asked.
-
- "So what?" responded Father McSorley.
-
- "Because there may be some people they don't take kindly to, like
- myself, who would probably be hanged or shot."
-
- "Oh, no," Father McSorley assured Mr. Irvine. "They don't do things
- like that."
-
- Mr. Irvine indicates he remains grateful that Father McSorley's
- assurance was never put to the test.
-
- NOVEL IDEA
-
- MediaWatch newsletter picked up a little tidbit tossed out by
- Maurice Strong, secretary-general of - does anyone remember? - the late,
- great U.N. Earth Summit in Rio. Mr. Strong told a Canadian reporter his idea
- for the plot of a novel:
-
- "What if a small group of world leaders were to conclude that the
- principal risk to the earth comes from the actions of the rich countries?
- And if the world is to survive, those rich countries would have to sign
- an agreement reducing their impact on the environment. Would they do
- it? The group's conclusion is no. The rich countries won't do it. They
- won't change. So in order to save the planet, the group decides: isn't the
- only hope for the planet that the industrialized nations collapse? Isn't it
- our responsibility to bring that about? This group of world leaders forms a
- secret society to bring about an economic collapse."
-
- 1-800-VETO IRS
-
- You've got his number. Howard Phillips, the U.S. Taxpayers Party
- candidate for president, is trying to round up stray supporters of Ross
- Perot. Mr. Phillips, actually, is probably more their kind of guy than George
- Bush or Bill Clinton. His candidacy is a protest against "the Washington
- establishment which buys special interest support at home and abroad by
- burdening us with debt, devaluing our currency and raising taxes."
-
- Mr. Phillips expects to be on the ballot in every state.
-
- Also gathering some of the Perot flock is controversial candidate Bo
- Gritz, the populist who wants to shut down the Federal Reserve, eliminate the
- IRS and income taxes, put a heavy lid on government spending, institute
- "workfare," protect homes from foreclosure or seizure, and a few other
- things that should strike chords in the heartland. We're getting
- reports on groups of Gritz supporters who left several West Coast locations
- earlier this month, marching to Washington. "They're having rallies and
- parades in the small towns they pass through, and they're being greeted with
- open arms," says C.D. Schaut, spokesman for Mr. Gritz.
-
- THE NAME GAME
-
- The Secret Service always assigns certain code words for use in
- discussing those under its protection, and the press is always eager to
- ferret out those words. According to the New York Post, Bill Clinton is
- "Eagle," Hillary is "Evergreen," Al Gore is "Sawhorse" and Tipper is
- "Skylark." No comment from the Secret Service on the report.
-
- TUNE IN TOMORROW
-
- For some reason the buzz around the Pentagon yesterday was that Dan
- Quayle will resign Thursday. Who knows how this stuff gets started? Last week,
- Capitol Hill was buzzing with the same story. Jim Baker would be named as Mr.
- Quayle's replacement, according to most versions, though at the Pentagon
- there was some strong sentiment expressed in favor of Colin Powell. PEROT CAN
- GO . . .
-
- There's lots of different ways to conclude the sentence suggested in
- that headline, and most of them have been expressed. Says NBC's Jay Leno
- of the deflated H. Ross: "I guess we all found out what the H stands for . . .
- 'hoax.' "

- "It was the SMOM (Sovereign Military Order of the Knights of Malta) --
- Georgetown axis which also launched Joe McCarthy's career. McCarthy was
- directly briefed by men like Father Walsh of Georgetown University who, with
- the help of the FBI, fed McCarthy his stories of "Communists" in the State
- Department. It is not just a case of "deja vu" when today the group is
- Georgetown-CSIS and it goes after such politically pathetic groups as the
- Institute for Policy Studies for their "KGB connections". In fact, the IPS in
- these circles is perceived as the outer wing of an "Atlanticist" faction in
- both American and British intelligence. Such British intelligence figures
- (and social democrats) as Richard Crossman have long been attacked by SMOM
- types for sponsoring the social democratic parties of Western Europe. It was
- because men like Gehlen (SMOM) hated the social democrats of all kinds that
- they also hated whole sections of British Intelligence. In effect they saw
- the Anglican and Catholic progressive circles as having their stronghold in
- the British Labor Party and other circles. This is why Georgetown was the
- home base for Professor Carroll Quigley whose book Tragedy and Hope "exposes"
- the close relations between the British "Roundtable" group and the American
- Council on Foreign Relations. Tragedy and Hope is the bible of the Birch
- Society and Catholic right. With the rise of the Thatcher faction of the Tory
- party (and the decline of Edward Heath whose ties were to much more moderate
- elements) the SMOM right has run a virtual coup in England."

- Who Is Bill
- Clinton?
-
-
- By this time, most readers will have heard of Bill Clinton's amazing statement
- (above) which was part of his acceptance speech. Ruling class/conspiracy
- theorists cannot but suspect a "secret message" to covert forces, in spite of
- Clinton's "time at Oxford" as a Rhodes Scholar (he did not graduate),
- proclaiming the Presidential candidate's ultimate loyalty to the
- Vatican-Jesuit forces of Georgetown University as opposed to Anglophile,
- Judeo-Masonic Skull and Bones roots of his opponent George Bush. Note
- Clinton's mention of Quigley's pro-progress attitudes. Quigley was a
- pro-growth Keynesian who condemned the Anglophile International Bankers for
- their tight money, no- growth, usurious policies in typical Catholic, easy
- money fashion (a la LaRouche?).
-
- Quickly on the heels of Clinton's statement, the "responsible
- conservative", Buckley orbit, Moon-Cult owned, Washington Times printed (see
- below) an attempted neutralization of Clinton's statement indicating the
- continuing belief of the Vatican forces that their control of Bush, in spite
- of his roots and "liberal" tendencies, is sufficient to justify their
- continued support, especially in light of Clinton's likely inability to
- resist, even if his covert message was sincere, liberal-left controllers
- surrounding him in the Democratic Party. Or, or in addition, the Vatican
- forces may have been allaying momentary fears that Clinton might be a
- conservative or even a covert Birch Society sympathizer, thus maintaining him
- as their "ace in the hole" should Bush founder.
-
- Thus, the Washington Times trotted out the old Birch Society myth that
- Carroll Quigley was an "Insider" committed to the New World Order of the
- Judeo-Masonic conspiracy. In fact, as we have shown previously, Quigley was a
- tool of the Georgetown Jesuit/Vatican conspiracy for the Old World Order, that
- is, the old "International" conspiracy of the Pope to manipulate a world of
- "sovereign" nation states and Empires. Only in the sense that Quigley, as all
- Catholics must and many Birchers do, support the Internationalism of the
- Vatican (or "Christendom"), is it true that Quigley was not an American
- Nationalist- Isolationist of the Birch Society stripe. Likewise, he was an
- "Insider" of the Judeo-Masonic conspiracy only to the extent that Vatican
- influencials are routinely admitted to Judeo-Masonic controlled "prestige"
- institutions such as the Trilateral Commission, CFR, Bilderbergers, etc. to
- extend their influence beyond the automatically loyal. As he revealed in
- Tragedy and Hope, Quigley favored much of the Judeo-Masonic (International
- Banker) movement toward world government (or what he more often called
- collective security and international law), but opposed the dominant role
- proposed for the Anglo-American cabal! {"..I have no aversion to it or to
- most of its aims and have, for much of my life, been close to it and to many
- of its instruments. I have objected, both in the past and recently, to a few
- of its policies (notably to its belief that England was an Atlantic rather
- that a European Power and must be allied, or even federated, with the United
- States and must remain isolated from Europe)"...page 950 Tragedy and Hope.}
-
- Note, when the full quote is made in context, the sly humor of Quigley's
- statement of "support for the conspiracy", only the first part of which has
- been so often quoted by Cleon Skousen, Gary Allen, G. Edward Griffin, and
- other Birchers! Quigley struck at the then very heart of the conspiracy's
- Anglophile plans! Since then, after years of "Bilderberger" meetings with
- Vatican and other continental forces, Britain has apparently agreed to become
- a Continental rather than an Atlantic Power. As I write, this question is
- again being raised as European Unification threatens to falters over currency
- issues between Britain and Germany.
-
- In spite of the apparent victory for the "continental" or Vatican forces
- over Britain's traditional separateness from Europe, this issue may, in fact,
- be far from settled. British Israel (the covert voice of the Crown?)
- continues to predict an early death in cataclysmic war for the Pope's unified
- Europe. Is Yugoslavia a fire set by the Anglo cabal in hopes of bringing this
- "Bible prophesied" event about? There can be little doubt that Bush, Baker,
- and Majors did everything they could to prevent Serbia's genocide from being
- stopped.
-
-
- New Source of Support for Project Theory of Quigley
-
-
- We recently discovered through a SpyBase computer search for references
- to Carroll Quigley a defunct magazine named ParaPolitics/USA which contained a
- fascinating article by Kevin Coogan which we have quoted above. Ignoring the
- obvious "left-bias" for a moment, note the support the article gives for the
- Project theory of Carroll Quigley's Tragedy and Hope as a Georgetown Jesuit,
- Vatican plot.
-
- Of course, the quote also contains many distortions due to the left-wing
- obsessions of the author. First, it fails to mention Carroll Quigley's hatred
- of McCarthy. However, Quigley's hatred was not based upon McCarthy's
- anti-communism, but rather his primitive intellectual nature that made it
- impossible for him to carry-out the sophisticated program planned by Jesuit
- Father Walsh in a sensible manner that would have achieved its anti- communist
- goals instead of discrediting them!
-
- Second, Coogan tries to dismiss the Institute for Policy Studies as
- politically impotent. On the contrary, IPS, which was extremely influential
- with left-liberals in the radical 60's and early 70's, was founded with money
- from the estate of James Warburg. Recall that the Warburgs, in combination
- with the Rothshilds with whom they are intermarried, were the founders of the
- Federal Reserve System and one of the premier International Merchant Banking
- firms of the Queen's Empire of the City (of London).
-
- Third, Coogan thinks IPS and similar circles are seen as creatures of
- the "Atlanticist faction of British and American Intelligence" by the SMOM
- forces. This failure to see that the Royalist ruling class of remnant British
- Imperialism (hardly just an "Atlanticist" intelligence agency faction)
- controls left-wing groups such as IPS is typical left- wing denial of the
- support they receive from the most hegemonic of all ruling class elements, the
- Judeo-Masonic- Anglophile/Royalist Cabal, while they focus their ire on the
- chronically losing, anti-modernist Vatican/SMOM forces.
-
- This is probably a good time to review all the analyses of Carroll
- Quigley that have appeared in the Project over the years and all the Carroll
- Quigley material that is currently available from A-albionic Research.
- Current events continue to confirm that Quigley provided a key, though not an
- unbiased one, to the mysteries of political reality in the modern world.

- The Evolution of Civilization by Carroll Quigley, 1961 In Print Paperback,
- 0441 pages, Order #00606 $15.00
-
- Neo-Spenglerian theory of the rise and fall of civilization. Claims
- civilization springs from a successful mechanism which allows an elite, ruling
- class to extract a "surplus" from the people for further expansion. Claims
- "institutionalization" eventually makes the mechanism rather than the
- extraction of surplus into an end in itself. For instance Democracy itself
- becomes a value in itself rather than a fraud perpetrated by the elite to gain
- the consent of the ruled as originally intended!

-
- Needed: A Revolution in Thinking by Carroll Quigley, 1968 Reprint Article, 5
- pages, Order #00780 $5.00
-
- Carroll Quigley repudiates the Aristotelianism of the traditional Aquinas wing
- of the Church in favor of Platonism and even "New Age" concepts of life and
- logic. Raises the possibility (in the minds of conspiriologists) that the
- Church may be covertly much less disturbed by "New Age" trends than it often
- pretends.
-
- Tragedy and Hope: A History of the World in Our Time by Carroll Quigley, 1960
- In Print Hardcover, 1100 pages, Order #00637 $25.00
-
- This book hit the American Right like a bombshell at the end of the 1960's
- when Birchers such as Gary Allen, Cleon Skousen, and G. Edward Griffin began
- to tout it and its ideas of a "Capitalist Conspiracy" above the "Communist
- Conspiracy". Oddly, the Birchers down played the Anglophile, British Empire,
- British Royal Family pro-Vatican implications of Quigley and concentrated on
- his mention of the International Bankers and their manipulation of Communism.
- Quigley claimed to have had access to CFR papers during part of his career
- and, thus, he was touted as an "Insider" who defected. A more careful study
- of his work and his career revealed that he was an Irish Catholic and an
- insider at the Pope's Georgetown Jesuit University where his book had been
- required reading for many years! Far from breaking new ground, much of his
- work is simply and up-dating and scholarization of the traditionalist Catholic
- conspiracy theories of Fathers Fahey and Couglin.
-
- Weapons Systems and Political Stability: A History by Carroll Quigley, 1983
- Rare/Out-of-Print Paperback, 1043 pages, Order #00769 $55.00
-
- When Carroll Quigley died he was gathering information and writing drafts of a
- book designed to show that political forms were a product of current weapons
- technology, ie. easy to use weapons like a hand gun lead to democracy and
- individualism while difficult to use weapons requiring professional expertise
- such as armor, swords, (modern technological weapons) etc. lead to a tightly
- knit professional soldiery surrounding despots. His students put his notes
- together in this xerox form...We also have a xerox of a fairly negative review
- of this book from the 1984 American Historical Review...$5.00 Note: Does
- Quigley's theory project that we are heading for ever increasing tyranny as
- weapons technology increases in complexity??
-

- As Germany rises again on the world stage, this time perhaps as the dominant
- force in a united Europe, this book becomes more and more important. With
- slight adjustments, this book fits perfectly with the Project theory of
- Judeo-Masonic-Anglophile vs. Prusso-Vatican conspiracy theories. Important
- information on the ancient Guelf vs. Ghibelline conflict within the
- Christendom which eventually coalesced into the current duality. Also
- explores the "2-Germanys" theory: the one Germany of totalitarian/militarist
- Prussians and Vatican aligned, the other Germany of cultured commerce by
- Merchant Princes of independent City States and British aligned. Note: The
- second Germany provided Britain with its Royal Family.

- Maurice Strong Lets Cat
- Out of Eco Bag?
-
- Remember Maurice Strong's 1st Wilderness Conference (See Summer 1988
- Project) that was attended by Rockefellers and Rothschilds? The mega-buck
- Canadian oil man was at it again as Rio Conference organizer.
-
- There can now be little doubt that our masters have been planning a
- major reduction in the standard of living in the name of ecology. It is
- unclear whether they really believe their own ecology extremism or find it
- convenient in moving toward monopoly control of resources and a stable power
- system for themselves.
-
- The key is the sudden rejection of Keynesianism. Almost no one talks
- anymore about simulating the economy through deficit spending and monetizing
- the debt. This can only be because stimulating the economy destroys the
- natural ecology. Keynes was quite oblivious to the environment and preached
- "anti-Puritanism". Remember his "In the long run we are dead." In fact,
- because of the welfare state, the deficit continues to grow and stimulate the
- economy, but the usual productive investment is absent! Thus, a "labor
- intensive" declining standard of living recovery is to be expected unless we
- see major policy changes from a new President.
