  2.    This is a list of possible answers to questions you may have.  If your    
  3.  question does not appear here, then feel free to call up one of the ACiDDRAW  
  4.  support sites listed in the ACiDDRAW Docs.

  8. Q : Why won't ACiDDRAW load up on my computer?                                
  9.                                                                               
  10. A : There can be quite a few reasons for this, the first few problems may be  
  11.                                                                               
  12.    1. You are required to run ACiDDRAW on a IBM or 100% Compatible clone.     
  13.    2. You are required to be running at DOS v3.3 or higher.                   
  14.       Since this program has not been tested under any other operating systems
  15.       or multi-taskers, results can be unpredictable.                         
  16.    3. You must have an enhanced keyboard.  Usually found on AT type computers 
  17.       and higher.  Note, some XT's with an enhanced keyboard Bios should work.
  18.    4. You must have around 300k of free base memory to run the program.       
  19.                                                                               
  20.     If your system meets all these requirements, and ACiDDRAW still does not
  21.     work, please leave a message to one of the authors containing your
  22.     configuration and setup.

  26. Q : Why Can't I go into 50 line mode or VGA viewing mode?                             
  27.                                                                               
  28. A : For 50 line mode and VGA viewing, an MCGA or better graphics card is   
  29.     required.  Any generic vanilla VGA card is enough to use the 50 line
  30.     mode and the VGA viewing mode.                                        
  31.                                                                               
  32.     ACiDDRAW automatically determines whether or not you have a VGA card, and
  33.     will not allow you to switch modes if you do not have one.

  37. Q : Why doesn't ACiDDRAW list all of my files when I am loading up an ANSI?   
  38.                                                                               
  39. A : ACiDDRAW only searches for directories and regular files.  It will not    
  40.     search for hidden files.  Also the amount of files that can be listed is  
  41.     dependent on the amount of memory.  The basic 300k should allow you to    
  42.     load at least 1000 file names.

  46. Q : How do I set how long an ansi is, without entering it into the save menu  
  47.     every time?                                                               
  48.                                                                               
  49. A : ACiDDRAW's configuration menu (ALT-O) allows you to enter a save length.  
  50.     The save length can range from 1-800 lines.  If you save a configuration  
  51.     with a save length of 200, each time you go to the save menu it will have
  52.     200 lines in the save length option.  You can edit this number from the 
  53.     save menu also.

  55.        If you set the save length to 0 in the option menu, ACiDDRAW will      
  56.     place the Y position of the cursor into the save length.  What this means 
  57.     is that, you can use the cursor to determine where you want to save up to.
  58.     For example if you have 169 line picture and you want to save all of it.  
  59.     Make sure that the save length in the option menu is set to 0, go to the 
  60.     bottom of your picture and place the cursor on the last line you want
  61.     saved.  Type ALT-S and it will use your cursor position for the save
  62.     length.

  66. Q : Why does it screw up when I upload ansi to a BBS?
  67.  
  68. A : The reason is that most BBS software will wrap a line if it contains
  69.     more than 79 characters per line.  In order to save an ansi properly,
  70.     you must use the line length option in the save menu.  This option
  71.     will allow you to adjust the maximum length of each line from 32-255
  72.     to unlimited.  To be safe when uploading ansi to a BBS, save your
  73.     ansi with a line length of 70.

  77. Q : What is the SAUCE Menu for?                                               
  78.                                                                               
  79. A : The SAUCE Menu is for placing SAUCE (Standard Architecture for Universal
  80.     Comment Extensions) descriptions.  This is a standard 128 byte comment
  81.     placed after the EOF marker.  It contains information about the file it
  82.     is attached to.

  84.      ACiDDRAW allows you to edit the Name, Title and Group fields in the 
  85.     SAUCE description.  Other fields such as type, file size, ansi width and
  86.     length, date are all entered in automatically.

  123. Q : I thought you said that this would be a crippled unregistered version,
  124.     and when is version 1 coming out, so I can send my money!

  126. A : At the last minuite we have decided to release a uncrippled, full version
  127.     of ACiDDRAW.  A version 1 should be coming out sometime at the end of
  128.     August 1994.  This version shall contain many more features and by that
  129.     time a fixed address for registration will be found.  All registrations
  130.     will be accepted at that time.
