This distribution contains Pixel Pusher version 0.9.3d1. Many of the problems reading non-Vicar images (for example from a CD-ROM) have been fixed. Please let me know via e-mail if you still have any problems with crashing.
By the way, the "d" stands for "development", which means use at your own risk... If it were a "b" (for "Beta"), that would mean it had gone through some good testing and proven to be robust. The letter gets dropped altogether when it has been in the user community for a while with no complaints.
Some usage notes:
Ñ Holding down the option key while using the scroll bars causes it to scroll faster (in bigger increments).
Ñ "Open..." will open Vicar images, PICT files, VIDS lookup table files, and files marked as PDS images (this last category could include unlabeled images). These have a type of VICR, PICT, VLUT, and VPDS respectively if you look at the file info.
Ñ "Open new transfer..." is for opening up newly transfered images and for images on CD-ROM. It will show files of type TEXT or TSSB.
Ñ Pixel Pusher can run in as little as 384K of memory for looking at image files (PICT files may require more), but for the fastest most efficient use, give it as much memory as you can afford (use "Get Info" from the Finder to change the application memory size). More memory means it looks on the disk less often, which, particularly on CD-ROMs, can speed things up quite a bit.
CD-ROM users note: You cannot change the application memory size if you run Pixel Pusher directly off the CD-ROM; you must first copy it to your hard disk.
