- In the upper left hand corner of the keyboard is a key labeled "F1". This is
- function key one. What pressing F1 does will depend on what program is being
- executed at the time the key is pressed. With some programs that are purchased
- separately from DOS, this key is used to request 'help'. Levels of DOS prior
- to 4.0 did not have a 'help' key. With DOS 4.0 and DOSSHELL, or with OS/2,
- F1 is the 'help' key for the HELP command supplied with the operating system.
-
- See the NEW_TERMS FUNCTION_KEY topic for more information about function keys.
- At the "Topic?" prompt, request the
- "SUMMARY COMMAND_EDITING" topic for information about how levels
- of DOS prior to 4.0 use the F1 key.
- "SUMMARY KEYBOARD ASSIGNMENT_OF_KEYS" topic for information about how
- to change what pressing the F1 key does.
