  3. ABOUT WEB PAIRWARE...
  4.  
  5. WEBCORP has been selling network products since early 1990. Since then,
  6. the idea of offering a shareware version of our WEB Network Operating
  7. System has surfaced several times, but the idea didn't gain sufficient
  8. support until the release of WEB 3.0. We have since decided to make WEB
  9. 2.55 available as a serial-based shareware product. It's called WEB
  10. PairWare and it has the same full set of features as our card-based 2.55
  11. version. WEB PairWare is designed to let as many of you as possible
  12. experience the benefits of our technology. We want to promote awareness
  13. of our product line and promote sales of the card- and serial-based
  14. versions of WEB 3.0. Please remember to register your software, because
  15. by doing so, you'll enable us to keep bringing you products that further
  16. enhance your productivity.

  28. You have run a self-extracting file called SHAREWEB.EXE that unpacked
  29. the following two files:
  30.  
  31. README.1ST    (this file)
  32. PAIRWARE.EXE  (a self-extracting packed file containing the shareware
  33.               version of WEB PairWare software and associated files -
  34.               approximately 418K unpacked)
  35.  
  36. WEB PairWare lets you connect two computers with a serial cable to
  37. create a fully functional peer-to-peer LAN.
  38.  
  39. INSTALLING FROM A HIGH DENSITY FLOPPY
  40. -------------------------------------
  41. (Note: There is insufficient room on a 360 K disk to unpack the files.)
  42. 1.  Print this file as a guide for installation.
  43. 2.  Keep a copy of SHAREWEB.EXE to give to others.
  44. 3.  Copy PAIRWARE.EXE to the floppy (if it's on your hard drive).
  45. 4.  Change to the floppy drive.
  46. 5.  Run PAIRWARE.EXE to unpack the software.
  47. 6.  Read the *.TXT files (especially MINIDOC.TXT).
  48. 7.  Run INSTALL.EXE on both computers to install the software.
  49. 8.  Copy *.TXT from the floppy to the target installation directory.

  51. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
  52. ----------------------------
  53. 1.  Print this file as a guide for installation.
  54. 2.  Keep a copy of SHAREWEB.EXE to give to others.
  55. 3.  Create a temporary directory on both computers.
  56. 4.  Copy PAIRWARE.EXE to the temporary directory on both computers.
  57. 5.  CD to the temporary directory on both computers.
  58. 6.  Run PAIRWARE.EXE on both computers to unpack the software.
  59. 7.  Read the *.TXT files (especially MINIDOC.TXT).
  60. 8.  Run INSTALL.EXE on both computers to install the software.
  61. 9.  Copy *.TXT from the temporary directory to the target directory.
  62. 10. Remove the temporary directory when installation is complete.
