  1. This README file of RCNSLE.ZIP accompanies RCONSOLE.EXE v2.9 for 
  2. NetWare v3.11. The following files are included for this update: 
  3.

  7. These files address the following issues:
  8.  
  9. 1) Directory Scan of an invalid path returns a blank file listing.
  10.  
  11. SOLUTION:  
  12.    Directory Scan of an invalid path now returns the
  13.    appropriate error.
  14.  
  15. 2) Directory Scan of a nonexistent B: drive appears to hang the
  16.    server and can subsequently causes the connection to the server to
  17.    be lost.
  18.  
  19. SOLUTION:   
  20.    This is inherent in the AT BIOS and the code and cannot be 
  21.    changed.  If the server has one floppy drive and it
  22.    defaults to A: and the RCONSOLE user tries to do a directory scan
  23.    of the B: drive, the actual server displays the message "Insert
  24.    diskette for drive B: and strike any key" and processing at the
  25.    server will be stopped until a key is pressed.  It will appear to
  26.    the RCONSOLE user that the server has hung, but if a key is pressed
  27.    at the actual server console, the server will continue processing. 
  28.    If a key is not pressed and enough time expires, the shell will
  29.    lose its connection with the server.
  30.  
  31. 3) RCONSOLE would not include all servers (with correct NLMs loaded)
  32.    in the Available Server List.
  33.    
  34. SOLUTION: 
  35.    RCONSOLE now lists the names of all servers that
  36.    have the correct NLMs loaded.  
  37.  
  38. 4) RCONSOLE would not work correctly on IMSP certified NetFrame servers.
  39.  
  40. SOLUTION:
  41.    RCONSOLE now works on IMSP certified NetFrame servers.

  44. To INSTALL this utility:     
  45.  
  46. 1) Unload at the server console the following NLMs (if loaded):
  47.      RSPX.NLM
  48.      REMOTE.NLM
  49.      
  50. 2) Flag RCONSOLE.* in the system directory to SRW.
  51.  
  52. 4) Copy RCONSOLE.* from the system directory to a local 
  53.    drive for backup purposes. 
  54.  
  55. 5) Copy the contents of this diskette to the system directory.
  56.  
  57. 6) Flag RCONSOLE.* in the system directory to SRO.
  58.
