  7. █  File menu
  8.  
  9.     The File Menu contains commands
  10. that let you open and save files, save a
  11. configuration to disk, print a data file,
  12. and export data.

  15. █  New
  16.  
  17.     The File|New menu item contains two 
  18. menu commands: Data Sheet and Plot.  
  19.  
  20.   Data Sheet:  This command creates a
  21.     sheet window.
  22.   Plot:  This command creates a plot
  23.     window.

  28.     The File|Open menu item contains two 
  29. menu commands: Data Sheet and Plot.

  31.   Data Sheet:  This command loads a
  32.     TechPlot Data file.
  33.   Plot:  This command loads a TechPlot

  39.     This command saves the data in the
  40. active data sheet to disk.

  45.     This command lets you save the active
  46. data sheet to a different name, in a
  47. different directory or on a different

  52.     The File|Import Data menu item has a
  53. pop-up menu (or a sub-menu) which contains
  54. the following commands: ASCII, Lotus, DIF,
  55. dBase, Excel, and QuattroPro.

  58.     An ASCII data file is a text file with
  59.   tab, space or "," delimiters between
  60.   numbers.  The first non-numeric line is
  61.   considered as the column names for data
  62.   columns.  The keywords "MOREDATA" and
  63.   "ENDDATA" can be used to handle large
  64.   number of data columns.

  66.   Lotus
  67.     TechPlot can import Lotus file format
  68.   for Lotus 1-2-3, version 1, 1A and 2.0.

  70.   DIF
  71.     DIF stands for the Data Interchange 
  72.   Format proposed by Lotus Development 
  73.   Corporation.

  75.   dBase
  76.     TechPlot can import Ashton-Tate's
  77.   dBase file format for dBase release II,
  78.   III, and IV.

  81.     TechPlot can import Microsoft's Excel
  82.   file format for  MS Excel version 2 and

  86.     TechPlot can import Borland'

  93.     The File | Export Data menu item has a

  124.  
  125.     This command appears on the File menu
  126. as Save Config.  It saves the current
  127. TechPlot preferences and configurations
  128. to a disk file.  The configuration file
  129. contains the printer options such as
  130. printer port, age mode, etc.; numerical
  131. options such as user-defined function,
  132. min-max value, number of points, etc.;
  133. plot setup options such as symbol type,
  134. color, size, etc.

  138.     This command loads the configuration
  139. options from a disk file to the current
  140. TechPlot preferences and configurations.

  143. █  Set Printer
  144.  
  145.     This command lets you select a target
  146. printer for data sheet output.

  149. █  Print
  150.  
  151.     This command lets you print the active
  152. sheet data.  Please make sure that a
  153. printer is properly connected to your
  154. computer and that it is turned on before
  155. you choose this command.

  157.     TechPlot will add a page header which
  158. includes file name, date, time, and page
  159. number information to the hardcopy.

  163. █  Print Selection
  164.  
  165.     This command lets you print the current
  166. selected block of the active sheet data.

  168. █  DOS Shell
  169.  
  170.     The File|DOS Shell command allows you 
  171. temporarily exit TechPlot to the DOS
  172. command line.  To return to TechPlot, type
  173. EXIT and press <Enter>.

  179.     The File|Exit command exits TechPlot,
  180. removes it from memory, and returns you
  181. to the DOS command line.
