- :: Move, resize and rotate object
-
-
- █ Move object
-
- There are several ways to move an
- object.
-
- If you have a mouse, do the following:
-
- · Select the Pick Tool and select the
- object to be moved (see Select object).
-
- · Press the mouse button and drag the
- object to a new location, then release
- the mouse button.
-
- If you use an emulated mouse, the steps
- are:
-
- · Select the object to be moved.
-
- · Move the cursor with the arrow keys
- to a new location.
-
- · Press <Ins> key to complete the action.
-
- If you prefer using a menu command, you
- can do the following:
-
- · Select the object to be moved.
-
- · Choose the View | Move command. The
- Move Object dialog box will be
- displayed. Type in the new location of
- the object in the edit input-line box.
-
- · Click the OK button or press <Alt+O>
- or <Enter>.
-
- The last method is very useful if you
- want to move an object to a specific
- position. For data curves and surfaces,
- the object can be moved only along with
- the axes (or frame). For 3D object, there
- is another 3D Move option. See TechPlot
- user's handbook: Section 9.3.9 for a
- detailed descriptions.
-
-
- █ Resize object
-
- The procedure to resize an object is
- similar to the ones for moving an object.
-
- If you have a mouse, do the following:
-
- · Select the Pick Tool and select the
- object to be resized (see Select
- object).
-
- · Move the mouse cursor to one of the
- small boxes surrounding the selected
- object.
-
- · Press the mouse button and drag the
- object to a new location, then release
- the mouse button.
-
- If you prefer using a menu command, you
- can do the following:
-
- · Select the object to be resized.
-
- · Choose the View | Resize command. The
- Resize Object dialog box will be
- displayed. Type in the new dimensions
- of the object in the edit inputline.
-
- · Click the OK button or press <Alt+O>
- or <Enter>.
-
- Again, for data curves and surfaces,
- the object can only be resized by resizing
- the axes (or frame). For 3D object, there
- is another 3D Resize option. See TechPlot
- user's handbook: Section 9.3.10 for a
- detailed descriptions.
-
-
- █ Rotate object
-
- The rotation of a plot object depends
- on the type of object.
-
- For all 2D objects, there are two ways
- to rotate.
-
- 1.Select the object you want to rotate
- and choose the View | Rotate command.
- A message will be displayed on the
- status line to instruct you about the
- rotating operation. Use arrow keys
- to rotate the plot object. When you
- finish rotating, press <Enter>.
-
- 2.Select the object you want to rotate
- and choose the Format | Object Format
- command. Type in a proper angle in
- the Angle filed of it format dialog
- box.
-
- For 3D object, select it and choose
- the View | Rotate command. The Plot View
- is changed to the 3D rotation mode. In
- this mode, the toolbox and color palette
- area is changed to 3D rotation tools. You
- can either use the mouse to click on the
- arrow buttons to set the angle of x, y, or
- z axis, or type in an angle value in the
- input-line box and choose the Apply button
- to see the rotating position. Choose the
- Done command button when you finish the
- rotating operation.
