- the following commands: ASCII, Lotus, DIF,
- dBase, Excel, and QuattroPro. These
- commands allow you to import data from the
- above listed file formats.
-
- ■ ASCII
-
- An ASCII data file is a text file with
- tab, space or "," delimiters between
- numbers. The first non-numeric line is
- considered as the column names for data
- columns. The keywords "MOREDATA" and
- "ENDDATA" can be used to handle large
- number of data columns.
-
- Here is a sample ASCII data file:
- X, Y, Z
- 0.1 2.5 -0.8
- 0.2 -0.l 1.2
- 0.3 -0.9 2.7
- MOREDATA
- W1, W2
- 4.3 12.3
- 0.5 21.9
- 2.1 35.2
- ENDDATA
-
- ■ Lotus
-
- TechPlot can import Lotus file format
- for Lotus 1-2-3, version 1, 1A and 2.0.
-
- ■ DIF
-
- DIF stands for the Data Interchange
- Format proposed by Lotus Development
- Corporation.
-

-
- TechPlot can import Ashton-Tate's
- dBase file format for dBase release II,
- III, and IV.

- file format for MS Excel version 2 and 3.
-
- ■ QuattroPro
-
- TechPlot can import Borland'
- QuattroPro file format for Quattro Pro
- version 2.0.
-
-
- █ DOS Shell
-
- The File|DOS Shell command allows you
- temporarily exit TechPlot to the DOS
- command line. To return to TechPlot, type
- EXIT and press <Enter>.
-
- Don't run any Terminate and Stay
- Resident (TSR) programs while you have
- shelled to DOS, because memory may get
- misallocated.
-
- If you have to run a TSR program from
- the DOS shell, please remember to remove
- it from memory before exiting back to
- TechPlot.
-
-
- █ Exit
-
- The File|Exit command exits TechPlot,
- removes it from memory, and returns you
- to the DOS command line. If you have made
- any changes that you have not saved,
- TechPlot asks you if you want to save them
- or not before exiting.
