  119. 1. RFCs, RFC INDEX, RFC SUBSCRIPTION

  121.      RFCs are technical notes describing protocol development and providing
  122.      general Internet information.  Several hosts are repositories for the 
  123.      RFCs, including NIC.DDN.MIL and FTP.NISC.SRI.COM.
  124.  
  125.      RFCs are available online via anonymous ftp or electronic mail free of 
  126.      charge.  SRI provides hardcopies on a cost recovery basis.

  141. 3. INTERNET TECHNOLOGY HANDBOOK
  142.  
  143.      The Internet Technology Handbook updates and expands the DDN Protocol 
  144.      Handbook.  It gathers a core set of RFCs, organizes them by networking 
  145.      topic, and provides an introductory explanation of each topic and each 
  146.      RFC's place within the scope of that topic.  A six volume set of more 
  147.      than 5,000 pages, the Handbook also includes a one year Internet
  148.      Technology Subscription.  The Internet Technology Subscription ensures 
  149.      that the Handbook will remain up to date because new RFCs that pertain 
  150.      to the Handbook are sent quarterly, along with information that makes 
  151.      it easy to know where new information fits.

  154. 4. TCP/IP CD
  155.  
  156.      The TCP/IP CD offers comprehensive documentation on the fundamentals 
  157.      of TCP/IP networking.  The CD includes all the online Requests For 
  158.      Comments (RFCs), all online Internet Engineering Notes (IENs), For 
  159.      Your Information documents (FYIs, a subset of the RFCs), the GOSIP 
  160.      specification, and other protocol, security, and informational files.  
  161.      We also provide archives of technical mailing lists that discuss protocol 
  162.      implementation issues.

  164.      IFIND, an easy to use search program, is included on each disk.  The 
  165.      search program works on both Unix and DOS systems.  It works by searching 
  166.      indexes made from all RFC, IEN, and FYI files, and all TCP-IP and 
  167.      Namedroppers mail messages.  As a free bonus, the CD includes public 
  168.      domain source code related to TCP/IP networking for those who do not 
  169.      have direct access to Internet file transfer capabilities.

  179. 6. NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF STANDARDS AND TECHNOLOGY (NIST) OSI
  180.    IMPLEMENTATION DOCUMENTS

  182.      SRI makes the output of four NIST Working Groups researching the
  183.      implementation of OSI standards in the U.S. available in a series
  184.      of subscriptions.  Four major working group areas are included:
  185.      Directory Services (X.500); Message Handling Systems (X.400);
  186.      Security; and Network Management.
