- The Game~
- --------

- Word Seeking is a game in which lists
- of words that you enter are used to
- create hidden word puzzles in boxes,
- then you search for the hidden words
- in the boxes of letters. You can
- build your own puzzles and print them.

- Build a New Puzzle~
- ------------------
-
- To create a puzzle, choose the option
- "Build a New Puzzle" on the first
- screen.
-
- A column of lines for your word list
- is displayed. Type the first word
- that you want to include on the first
- line. Then press Enter. Type
- additional words, pressing Enter after
- each word. The longer the words, the
- more difficult the puzzle.

- If you make a spelling mistake, you
- can either type over the existing
- characters or use the Del (Delete) key
- to erase.

- You can use a dashes within a word but
- no spaces.
-
- When you finish adding words to your
- list, press Esc. The computer then
- builds your puzzle.

- Once a puzzle has been built, you can
- use the word list more than once. To
- do this, choose "Old Words For Next
- Game" on the Options menu.

- Solve a Puzzle~
- --------------

- Use the four cursor movement keys to
- move the cursor left, right, up, or
- down. Use Home, PgUp, End, and PgDn
- to move in diagonal directions through
- the puzzle.

- To solve a puzzle, move the cursor to
- the first character of a word and
- press either the plus (+) key or the
- Ins key to mark the beginning of the
- word. The marked character flashes.

- Next, move the cursor to the last
- character of the word and press Enter.
- The marked word is now highlighted.

- If you mark a wrong word, the program
- beeps. You can use the minus (-) key
- or Del to unmark a word.

- If you need help, press function key
- F1. F2 shows you the words in the
- puzzle one at a time.

- When you finish working on a puzzle,
- press Esc to go to the options menu.

- Print a Puzzle~
- --------------

- Choose "Use the Printer" on the
- options menu to do any of the
- following:
-
- o Print a puzzle with a word list
-
- o Print a puzzle without a word list
-
- o Print a solution to the puzzle
-
- o Add a title to the puzzle
-
- To choose an option, use Cursor Up or
- Cursor Down to move the cursor to the
- option, then press Enter.

- When you finish using this menu,
- choose the option "Finished With
- Printing."

- Customize Puzzle~
- ----------------

- You can change the following program
- options:
-
- Change Puzzle Size by 0
-
- You can make your puzzles larger or
- smaller. Word Seeker uses a formula
- based on the number of words, length
- of the words entered, and the value
- that you specify here to calculate
- the puzzle size. The range of this
- puzzle size value is -2. -1, 0, +1,
- and +2.

- Sound Is On
-
- Press Enter to turn off sound.
- Press Enter again to turn it
- on.

- Word Sorting ON
-
- Press Enter to turn word sorting
- off. Press Enter again to turn word
- sorting on. The words in your next
- word puzzle appear in alphabetical
- sequence.

- New Words For Next Game
-
- Press Enter to use new words for the
- next game. Press Enter again to use
- the words of the last game.

- When you finish using this menu,
- choose the option "Finished With
- Changes" to go to the first menu.
