  22. Word Seeking is a game in which lists
  23. of words that you enter are used to
  24. create hidden word puzzles in boxes,
  25. then you search for the hidden words
  26. in the boxes of letters.  You can
  27. build your own puzzles and print them.

  30. Build a New Puzzle~
  31. ------------------

  33. To create a puzzle, choose the option
  34. "Build a New Puzzle" on the first
  35. screen.
  36.  
  37. A column of lines for your word list
  38. is displayed.  Type the first word
  39. that you want to include on the first
  40. line.  Then press Enter.  Type
  41. additional words, pressing Enter after
  42. each word.  The longer the words, the
  43. more difficult the puzzle.

  45. If you make a spelling mistake, you
  46. can either type over the existing
  47. characters or use the Del (Delete) key
  48. to erase.

  50. You can use a dashes within a word but
  51. no spaces.

  53. When you finish adding words to your
  54. list, press Esc.  The computer then
  55. builds your puzzle.

  57. Once a puzzle has been built, you can
  58. use the word list more than once.  To
  59. do this, choose "Old Words For Next
  60. Game" on the Options menu.

  66. Solve a Puzzle~
  67. --------------

  69. Use the four cursor movement keys to
  70. move the cursor left, right, up, or
  71. down.  Use Home, PgUp, End, and PgDn
  72. to move in diagonal directions through
  73. the puzzle.

  75. To solve a puzzle, move the cursor to
  76. the first character of a word and
  77. press either the plus (+) key or the
  78. Ins key to mark the beginning of the
  79. word.  The marked character flashes.

  81. Next, move the cursor to the last
  82. character of the word and press Enter.
  83. The marked word is now highlighted.

  85. If you mark a wrong word, the program
  86. beeps.  You can use the minus (-) key
  87. or Del to unmark a word.

  89. If you need help, press function key
  90. F1.  F2 shows you the words in the
  91. puzzle one at a time.

  93. When you finish working on a puzzle,
  94. press Esc to go to the options menu.

  97. Print a Puzzle~

  100. Choose "Use the Printer" on the
  101. options menu to do any of the
  102. following:

  104. o  Print a puzzle with a word list

  106. o  Print a puzzle without a word list

  108. o  Print a solution to the puzzle

  110. o  Add a title to the puzzle

  112. To choose an option, use Cursor Up or
  113. Cursor Down to move the cursor to the
  114. option, then press Enter.

  116. When you finish using this menu,
  117. choose the option "Finished With
  118. Printing."

  124. Customize Puzzle~
  125. ----------------

  127. You can change the following program
  128. options:

  130. Change Puzzle Size by 0
  131.  
  132.   You can make your puzzles larger or
  133.   smaller.  Word Seeker uses a formula
  134.   based on the number of words, length
  135.   of the words entered, and the value
  136.   that you specify here to calculate
  137.   the puzzle size.  The range of this
  138.   puzzle size value is -2. -1, 0, +1,
  139.   and +2.

  141. Sound Is On
  142.  
  143.   Press Enter to turn off sound.
  144.   Press Enter again to turn it
  145.   on.

  147. Word Sorting ON

  149.   Press Enter to turn word sorting
  150.   off.  Press Enter again to turn word
  151.   sorting on.  The words in your next
  152.   word puzzle appear in alphabetical
  153.   sequence.

  155. New Words For Next Game

  157.   Press Enter to use new words for the
  158.   next game.  Press Enter again to use
  159.   the words of the last game.

  163. Changes" to go to the first menu.
