  14.   Thank you for purchasing your EtherPCI LAN Card II from Linksys.  The 
  15.   instructions below explain how to set up the card's software drivers 
  16.   for use with your network software.
  17.   
  18.   Be sure to read the User Guide before installing your card.  In addition,
  19.   please make note of these hardware & software guidelines:
  20.  
  21.     *   Plug-and-play computers have a number of expansion slots inside.
  22.         Each slot has a pre-assigned interrupt (IRQ) and I/O address (MEM). 
  23.         When the Linksys LAN Card is inserted into a PCI slot, the PC's 
  24.         BIOS should automatically assign a unique IRQ & MEM value for the 
  25.         network card. 
  26.  
  27.         In most cases, the card should work fine using the pre- 
  28.         assigned IRQ and I/O addresses.  Occasionally, however, the 
  29.         card may have an IRQ conflict with other adapters in the system. 
  30.         If this happens, you will need to change the IRQ setting of the 
  31.         LAN Card manually.  There are three possibilities: 
  32.  
  33.                 - Your PCI may not allow you to change the IRQ value(s) of 
  34.                   the PCI slot(s).  In this case, you will ONLY be able to 
  35.                   use the IRQ & MEM values that have been pre-assigned to 
  36.                   each slot. 
  37.  
  38.                 - You may be able to change the IRQ & MEM values for a given 
  39.                   PCI slot by setting jumpers on your PC's mother board. 
  40.                   Please refer to your PC's motherboard user guide for 
  41.                   specific instructions. 
  42.  
  43.                 - Your PC may allow you to change the IRQ & MEM values for 
  44.                   a given PCI slot by accessing the PC's BIOS setup menu. 
  45.                   Please refer to your PC's user guide for specific details. 
  46.  
  47.                   Although it is advisable to set a unique IRQ address for 
  48.                   each PCI slot, depending on your PC, you may or may not 
  49.                   be able to do so.

  51.   Setup 
  52.   ----------------------------------------------------------------- 
  53.   The NETWARE\CLIENT\4.X\OS2 directory contains all of the drivers needed
  54.   for ODI and/or IPX network communications.  Because the drivers are
  55.   for DOS only, they will automatically default to a frame type of
  56.   802.2, although this can be changed in the NET.CFG configuration
  57.   file.  Consult your Novell NetWare user guides for more information
  58.   about NET.CFG files and frame types.
  59.  
  60.   ODI Driver program allows you to run multiple protocol stacks. 
  61.   It also allows you to install up to two network adapters in a 
  62.   workstation. ODI driver supports node address, protocol and frame 
  63.   options.  You can use these options to create your own NET.CFG file. 
  64.   For detailed info on Keywords, please refer to Novell manual "NetWare 
  65.   ODI shell for DOS - NET.CFG options".

  67.   Installation 
  68.   1. Start up OS/2.
  69.   2. Double-click the 'Novell' icon on the OS/2 desktop.
  70.      If you cannot find the 'Novell' icon on the OS/2 desktop, you must 
  71.      install it first from the CD-ROM of the Netware 4.x Operation System.
  72.   3. Double-click the 'Install' icon in the 'Novell' window.
  73.   4. Choose 'Requester on Workstation' from the 'Installation' menu.
  74.   5. Insert the Linksys Program Disk into drive A:.  When asked for the
  75.      source drive in the 'Set Target Directory', type 
  76.  
  77.        A:\NETWARE\CLIENT\4.X\OS2
  78.  
  79.      and press Enter or click OK.
  80.      
  81.   6. Select 'Edit CONFIG.SYS and Copy All Files' in the 'Requester
  82.      Installation' window, and then press the <OK> button.
  83.   7. Type the driver name LNEPCI2.SYS in the 
  84.      'Step1:Choose the ODI LAN Driver'window, and then press the 
  85.      <Continue> button.
  86.   8. Follow the instructions and finish the installation.
  87.   9. If there is more than one LNEPCI II card in your system, you must 
  88.      add the following statements to the NET.CFG file:
  89.                 
  90.                 Link Driver LNEPCI
  91.                         port    d000            -> selected LNEPCI II card
  92.  
  93.   Restart your computer.  The installation is complete.

  131.    To access the Linksys Bulletin Board System (BBS), set your modem to
  132.    8 bits, No parity, 1 stop bit, and call (714) 261-2888.  Use a speed 
  133.    setting of 33.6bps or slower.  When downloading files, use the "Z-modem" 
  134.    download protocol for best results.
