- EXPLANATION OF ITEMS ON THE STATISTICS SCREEN Page 1
-
- The HANDS REVIEW box:
-
- As you play, statistics are accumulated each time you WIN, FOLD or LOOSE a
- hand. When you WIN or FOLD, a count is added under the card number at which
- the win or fold occured. Example: if you bet after the 3rd card dealt and
- your opponents fold, thus winning the pot, the count for WON under card #3 is
- upped by 1. The LOST counter is only updated when you have played down to the
- fifth card and have lost the pot. The AVERAGE SIZE POT shown to the right of
- the counts shows you what was the average pot size when you won, folded or
- lost. The above statistics are significant in the following ways:
- 1) Most of your WINS will occur after 2 or 3 cards dealt. The more wins
- you have after 4 or 5 cards, the bigger winner you can be.
- 2) Most of your FOLDS should be taking place after 2 or 3 cards. Repeated
- folding after 4 and 5 cards points to a player too anxious of being on
- every pot and can lead to big losses.
- 3) The AVERAGE SIZE POTS for a good player will likely look as follows:
- For WON: more than FOLD but less than LOST
- For FOLD: the smallest of the averages
- For LOST: the largest of the averages, hopefully, a small number of hands.
- The STRATEGY INDEX box: Page 2
-
- As you play each hand, the TUTOR grades you on your skills in the 7 basic
- areas of the game: CHECKING, CALLING, BETTING, RAISING, FOLDING, BLUFFING
- and SANDBAGGING.
-
- Each time an opportunity to take one of these actions presents itself, you
- accumulate or loose points depending on whether you took the action
- correctly (as the TUTOR would suggest). Please remember the TUTOR is not
- infallible.
-
- A perfect score for each category is 10. Actions which have not presented
- themselves will show N/A (not applicable).
-
- Please note that these indices do not take into consideration whether you
- won or lost the hands. You might get lucky and win a few hands by betting
- incorrectly, but in the long run you will not be a winner!
-
-
-
-
- The SUGGESTIONS box: Page 3
-
- After each hand is played, the TUTOR will comment on your actions. These
- simple comments are designed to help you better understand some of the
- incorrect actions you took during that hand.
-
- If no comments are shown, the TUTOR has not disagreed with any of your
- actions on the last hand played.
-
- Again, please remember that students do not always agree with their
- teachers. Take all comments, indices and statistics as an aid, not gospel.
- If you have a better way to play cards than the TUTOR, and you can prove it
- with a track record of consistent wins, don't change your style!

- The PLAYER EXPERTISE box:
-
- The indices and statistics are combined to produce the player's overall
- RATING and LEVEL. The top rating is 100 and the top level is PRO PLAYER.
- These ratings are only available after playing a minimum of 5 hands.
