- THE FEDS Part I
- "Electronic Surveillance"

- In todays society everything can be a bust. Even calling between pay
- fones can be immediately tapped. Any room can be bugged. Laser beams can be
- bounced off window panes to reveal conversations. Whispered conversations in a
- traveling car can be revealed by a properly equip speeding car. Police
- Infiltrators carry bugs in the heals of their shoes. In Basement rooms of
- telephone exchanges, recorders monitor hundreds of telephone calls.
- These are but a few of the many ways ma and the fed's try and bust ya,
- there's many many more from pen bugs to neck tie bugs and on and on.
- In order to distinguish, a Tap is used only for fones where as a bug is
- for monitoring convo's in a room. Elsur is the FBI's acronym for these arts.
- The FBI as well as many other installations have been known to make
- "Suicide Taps" These are illegal taps and called "Suicide" because of the
- result if found out. This doesn't bother the agencies very much for with the
- info they can gather their bond to find some way to bust you legally, that is
- as long as their tap isn't found out.
- Surveillance goes so far as transatlantic. According to the National
- Security Agency (NSA), every transatlantic call entering or leaving the U.S. is
- recorded by the agency. The army appears to also monitor the mails. An
- example of this was recorded when a 14 year old boy decided he wanted to go to
- camp in East Germany, a camp run by the East German communist party. All
- summer long all letters written by his parents to him and officials there where
- summarized by a unit of ASA known as U.S. Army Operations and Research
- Detachment (USAO & RD) in Frankfurt. The address of the unit is the same as
- NSA headquarters for Europe. The USAO &RD passed these along to the U.S. legal
- attache in Bonn, He passed them on to FBI H.Q. in Washington D.C. and than to
- the FBI H.Q. in Philadelphia.
- None of this suggests that a special investigation was going on, infact
- all facts point in the direction that the FBI became curious from routine
- transatlantic mail checks by Army Surveillance. Now, is East Germany an
- exception or are all bloc countries checked?
- According to federal figures taps operating for a period of 2 weeks for
- one year cost $700 for the feds and $388 for locals per day. At these rates
- 100 taps operating for one year in N.Y.C. would cost one and a half times the
- N.Y.C. Intelligence Units budget. So where do all the money for "legal" taps
- come from? They have to be using illegal ones.
- The best guide to electronic surveillance equipment comes from a
- commercial publishing firm called Sirchie Fingerprint Laboratories of
- Moerestown, N.J.. These are only available to law enforcement agencies. The
- catalogue is suppose to only come to those who send the correct letterhead of
- legit authorities. I have one. It features microfones smaller than a button,
- ones that can be used as a working piece of a telephone. Dozens of systems all
- containing a recorder. There's a few with the logo "Undetectable by telephone
- company." All mic's run between 175-200 mhz. So you could make your own or
- pick up the wave from a bought radio. Another catalog is by Jensen Tools inc
- of 7815 S. 46th street, Phoenix, Arizona. You can send away for this one. It
- may not specialize in surveillance but it does include telephone test
- equipment, Linesman handsets, recorders that only start when a pre-fixed tone
- is given, traces and many others.
- Agents who infiltrate places are usually the ones who hold their post
- because of their skill not background or honesty for the cause. One might be
- in a terrorist group simply for their explosive expertise, or a computer group
- for their hacking expertise. You can also tell pigs by what they wear when
- they aren't around you, or eventually if their seen around federal buildings.
- If your really worried about someone check everything on them out, if they say
- their sick check, if they say their mothers sick check, use the CN/A operator,
- check it could well prove worth it.
- One good example of this was when a fellow hacker under the name of "The
- Revenger" who was actually a cop started up a BBS. He had people from The
- Shadow Brotherhood, Mtn. High hackers, The Nihilist order and KAOS inc. which
- was basically all of these put together. The BBS included myself, Dr. D-code,
- The Highwayman, Sir William, and many others. Some of the local members are
- now facing charges for credit fraud, and illegal trafficing. The sysop was not
- to be trusted, just to show you what we're up against.
- What can you do about electronic surveillance? Well exposure of the ones
- doing it is great help, better laws. But you must remember such agencies such
- as the FBI like to make it seam they are bigger than they really are, that they
- have agents everywhere and are listening to every conversation, this simply
- cannot be done. Going through the courts is the best you can do, and if you
- inlist such agencies as the ACLU, the Citizens Commission to Investigate the
- FBI (CCIFBI) or some other civil liberties organization (the feds hate em).
- But you must always beware, in at least one case Bell's special Intelligence
- force (SIF) has been known to result to harassment and such because of no
- "legal" way to get info out of a person, But of course this is extreme.

- In this article I will show how far the FBI goes to get info and stray from
- their own ground rules. The first one is a statement they try ad get you to
- sign called "Advice of Rights." Which, when read by one of legal training, is a
- waiver of your rights.
-
- INTERROGATION; ADVICE OF RIGHTS
- \YOUR RIGHTS\
-
- Place....................
- Date.....................
- Time.....................
-
- Before we ask you any questions, you must first understand your rights.
- You have the right to remain silent.
- Anything you say can be used against you in court.
- You have the right to a lawyer for advice before we ask you any questions
- and to have him with you during questioning.
-
- [etc. omitted]
-
- <Waiver>
-
- I have read this statement of my rights and I understand what my rights are
- (here's where most people stop reading). I am willing to make a statement and
- answer questions. I do not want a lawyer at this time. I understand and know
- what I am doing. No promises or threats have been made to me and no pressure or
- coercion of any kind has been used against me.
-
- Signed..............................
-
- Witness:.......................
- Witness:.......................
- Time:..........................
-
- The last part of this statement most people take for granted. Who figures the
- FBI's running a scam, well by signing this document you have completly given up
- your rights.
- The IRS', Tabacco and Alcohol Tax divison has been knwon to check libraries
- for people who check out books on explosives. Supposedly some 25 million
- civilians are onn the FBI's files, they say they have cut this down some, who
- knows for sure. Each agent keeps his own files that pertain to him.The file
- arrangement goes as follows:
- 1-351-5537
- The one (1) tells the agent its a file on racisim, 351 is the article in that
- file and 5537 is the files person number.
- A law was passed some time ago that made it mandatory for all credit bureaus
- to give info on you to the police or any other law enforcement agency if they
- asked for it. Such as TRW has some 30 million americans on-line. Some info
- includes not only your credit history but your personal habits, traits, medical
- history, finances, hell they know more about you then some of your friends.
- Total some 110 million americans are on file. You have the right to see any
- files any agency has on you, but get this, they have the right to declare that
- your file is "specifically required by Executive order to be kept secret in the
- interest of national security." Now who decides what is and isn't national
- security? If you decide to take this to court (you can) it has been known that
- in the course of travel your Bill."
- The following is what must be done to connect a tap. It is from the Omnibus
- Crime control act; however, I lost my copy so it is done simply by memory, it
- is correct what is there, but theres much more to it. This is meant to simply
- give you and example of what a pain a "legal" tap must go through before being
- put on-line.
-
- 1. An agent who wishes to establish a tao must:
- A. Give tappees complete name
- B. Reason for tap
- C. Proof that tap is needed
- D. The tappee must own or be leasing the place of tap
- E. Must give desired time frame
- F. Tell if other methods have failed.
-
- * It is approximated that it takes 4-6 people to run a tap on a day to day
- basis, that is on a legal day to day basis.
-
- There are many more rules. Taps may only be placed on line for periods of 2
- weeks however they may be resubmitted for further time or an agent may request
- extended time be allowed if he feels it's necessary (more procedures) and he
- must request it within 48hr.s of the tap being placed online. They must also
- place all this on (get this) blue 3 X 5 cards.
- As you can see its a bitch to place a tap on your line (a legal one). As a
- lawyer in a goverment case put it, "a window into a mans soul." Which for me at
- least describes a tap to the tee. You can reach me on Metalland ][ 503 253 5300
