- FIRECON.FIG configuration file to the proper setting the first time
- you play.
-

- FIRECON.FIG configuration file to the proper setting the first time
- you play.
-
- If you ever want to change your FIRECON.FIG configuration file to the
- setting for hard drive use, type FIRETEAM ONE.
-
- Once you have set your configuration file, you do not need to type
- ONE, TWO, or THREE unless you want to change the configuration.
-
-
- PLAYING WITH DISSIMILAR DRIVES
-
- As the manual states, you may play FireTeam 2200 from 2 floppy drives,
- provided both have a minimum of 720K capacity. However, if the two drives
- are dissimilar in type (e.g. one 5.25" drive and one 3.5" drive),
- you will need to perform an extra step to completely install the
- product to disks you can play from.
-
- After you have installed the product onto 2 (or 3) disks of one type,
- you will need to copy the files from the Program Disk onto a disk of
- the "other" type.
-
- For example, if you have four 5.25" installation disks, and your system
- has one 1.2M 5.25" drive and one 1.44M 3.5" drive, you should install
- the game from the installation disks to two 3.5" disks. Then you should
- copy the 3.5" Program Disk to a 5.25" Program Disk. You may then play
- FireTeam 2200 using the 5.25" Program Disk in Drive A and the 3.5" Construct
- Disk in Drive B.
-
- If you need to get even trickier because of your particular configuration,
- you can install and copy files at will, provided you obey the following
- guidelines when you are done:
-
- The Program Disk must always be placed in Drive A.
- The Simulation Disk (if used) and the Construct Disk must always be
- placed in Drive B.
-
- The contents of the disks after installation must be:
-
- Program Disk

- REAL-TIME vs. TURN BY TURN UPDATES
-
- Learning FireTeam may be easier if you play using the "Manual Update
- Mode" for Updates. In Manual Update Mode, your enemies are "frozen"
- and their actions do not take place until you press <F9> to Update
- the game.
-
- To use Manual Update Mode, after the scenario has begun, press <Alt-U>
- until the Command Menu indicates that you are in Manual Update Mode.
- For more information about the Update Cycle, read the "Administrative
- Commands" section of the manual.
-
- USING ADLIB COMPATIBLE SOUND CARDS
-
- This version of FireTeam 2200 explicityly supports only the AdLib card,
- not compatibles.
-
- FireTeam 2200 does not automatically install sound drivers to support
- your sound card when you play. You must install the sound driver for
- your card before you play the game. To play FireTeam 2200 using AdLib
- "compatible" cards may require that you install the sound driver for your
- "compatible" card before you play the game.
-
- If you have difficulties using your card, call our customer service
- department on 415 824-3112 for possible solutions.
-
- SETTING INITIAL OBJECTIVES
-
- Whenever you select your own FireTeam for a scenario instead of the
- default FireTeam, you should examine and possibly re-set the task
- and objectives of your FireTeam members.
-
- This is because the computer gives your FireTeam members the inital
- orders given to the Default FireTeam for that scenario.
-
- These orders might not make sense for your units, because they were
- intended for the Default FireTeam units.
-
- SETTING OBJECTIVES ON WATER LOCATIONS
-
- Air units and Hovercraft Tank units may set movement objectives on
- water locations (rivers, lakes, etc.). However, Infantry units and
- other Tank units may not set movement objectives on water locations,
- since they cannot move into those locations.
