  1. To fix your Bard's Tale III disk so that it doesn't require a code wheel,
  2. insert your character disk with fastload in, and go to the edit diskette
  3. utilities by hitting \ in basic. Then read sector 9 track 0f. Scroll down
  4. to 0a58 and change the 38 to 18. Rewrite the sector.
