  15. **** Installation
  16.  
  17. DESQview now automatically copies XDV.COM to 
  18. DV.COM when you install it into a new 
  19. directory.  It does not do this when you are 
  20. upgrading DESQview on top of an old copy, 
  21. unless you have already manually made a DV.COM 
  22. file. If you are not sure whether you should be 
  23. using the XDV program, read pages 138-139 and 
  24. 147 in the DESQview manual.

  27. **** Setting the screen height
  28.  
  29. Many users have asked for a way to 
  30. automatically set the screen to a specific 
  31. number of lines.  In DESQview 2.3 you may now 
  32. do this by setting the "Starting Height" to the 
  33. number of lines desired for text modes of EGA 
  34. or VGA adapters.  Setting this value will cause 
  35. DESQview to switch the screen to the proper 
  36. mode when the window is opened, as well as when 
  37. you switch back to it.  For programs with 
  38. "Writes text directly to screen" set to "N", 
  39. you must also have "Uses its own colors" set to 
  40. "Y".  Both the "Starting Height" and "Maximum 
  41. Height" values should be set to 43 for EGA and 
  42. 50 for VGA.  These are the only supported 
  43. values.
