- Before you Begin: You must have a formatted, blank disk available to
- save games in progress when using floppy drives.

- Loading Instructions: Floppy Drives
-
- 1. Turn on your computer with your DOS disk in a
- drive. Once you have a prompt, insert the
- Treasure Trap Disk A in your drive.
-
- 2. At the appropriate prompt, type:TT and press
- Enter.
-
- 3. If you want to use a joystick or redefine the
- movement keys, press "R" and follow the onscreen
- prompts.
- If you want to start playing the game, press
- the space bar.
- If you want to view or change the game options,
- press "O".

- Hard Drive Installation
-
- 1. Insert the 5.25-inch Treasure Trap Disk C
- (Disk B in 3.5-inch format) in your drive label
- side up.

- 2. Type: Install C: (Install Hard Drive
- Letter:.) The game will be placed in directory
- C:\EZOO\TT.

- 3. Follow the onscreen prompts to install the
- files on the indicated disk drive.

- Loading from a Hard Drive
-
- 1. Turn on your computer.
-
- 2. At the prompt, type: CD\EZOO and press Enter.
-
- 3. Type: TT to load the game.
-
- Note to Joystick Users: To use a joystick, you must press the "R" key to
- redefine the controls. Then press "J" to select the joystick.

- Summary of Commands
-
- Arrow Keys - The arrow keys are used to move the diver in four different
- directions on the screen. If you are using a joystick, see the Movement
- section of the manual for specific control information. If desired, you
- can change the keys you use to control movement (see Redefining the
- Keyboard in the manual).

- Note: When using a joystick with an IBM/compatibles
- computer, Button 1 used to jump. Button 2 is used to drop
- and pick up keys.

- Space Bar/Fire - Press the spacebar to Jump. If the diver is moving in a
- specific direction when you press the key, he will jump in that
- direction. You can also jump in a specific direction by pressing the
- appropriate direction key (or moving the joystick in the appropriate
- direction) immediately after jumping.

- "D" Key - Press "D" to pick up a key you are standing on or to drop a
- key you have in your possesion. You can change this key if you want (see
- Redefining the Keyboard in the manual).

- "S" Key - Press the "S" key to release a Smart Fish. You can change this
- key if you want (see Redefining the Keyboard in the manual).

- "L" Key - Press "L" to load a saved game from disk during the title
- screen or the high scores screen.

- "P" Key - Press to Pause the game at any time.

- "M" Key - Press to view the map. The map shows all the rooms you have
- entered in the Esmeralda.

- Backspace - Press to Abort the current game.

- F1 Key - Press to toggle the Sound Effects on and off.
-
- F2 Key - Press to toggle the Shadows on and off. Eliminating shadows
- speeds play when using computers with slower processors.

- F3 Key - Press to Change the palette of colors in CGA mode.

- F4 Key - Press to Correct EGA/VGA scrolling problems when using
- "non-standard" graphic cards

- Important - Treasure Trap is not compatible with all DOS Shell Programs.
