  1. Playing Ultima 6 without a map?  Well no more!
  2.  
  3. In this archive is the overland map (Britannia) of the game Ultima VI.
  4. I worked a couple of weeks and many hours reverse engineering the data
  5. files and have discovered their format.
  6.  
  7. The map is 1024x1024 and I have included a couple of different versions
  8. of it here:

  10.         ULT6BIG.GIF    Full size exact map 1024x1024, 16 color
  11.         ULT6SMAL.GIF   Reduced size to 800x600, 16 colors to fit nicely
  12.                        on a Super VGA screen.
  13.         ULT6MAP1.GIF   512x512, Northwest quadrant of the full size map
  14.         ULT6MAP2.GIF   512x512, Northeast quadrant of the full size map
  15.         ULT6MAP3.GIF   512x512, Southwest quadrant of the full size map
  16.         ULT6MAP4.GIF   512x512, Southeast quadrant of the full size map

  18. If you don't have VGA, sorry for the inconvenience, but it just doesn't
  19. do justice to the game to have a lower res map.  To get the most from
  20. the game, you need VGA anyway.
