- When to Consult an Attorney
-
-
- While Home Lawyer contains the documents people use most often,
- it does not and cannot address every set of circumstances a
- person may face. Sometimes the advice and assistance of an
- attorney can be invaluable in helping to spot potential
- problems or in guiding you to the best decision regarding your
- family, property, business or career. Attorneys can provide
- personalized help that goes beyond what even the best computer
- program can do. You should consult with an attorney when:
-
-
- ■ You need help in selecting the document that is right for
- your situation.
-
- ■ You are asked to sign any document you do not fully
- understand or with which you do not agree.
-
-
- When to Consult an Attorney (continued)
-
-
- ■ You need access to the court system to assert your rights
- or defend yourself against the claims of another.
-
- ■ Your estate is in excess of $600,000 or you need assistance
- with planning your estate.
-
- ■ You need guidance in filing papers or recording legal
- documents.
-
- ■ You are charged with any criminal violation or served with
- a civil lawsuit.
-
- ■ You need advice about any of the language contained in
- Home Lawyer's documents.
-
-
-
-
- A directory of State Bar Associations is included in the
- Reference Manual. You can contact the Bar Association in your
- state for referral to an attorney who can assist you with
- whatever legal needs you may have.
-
- Note: This list is provided for your convenience and is not
- intended to be an endorsement of the Product by these
