- Floppy Disk Imagine Object
-
- Created by Eric Crampton
-
- This is your basic floppy disk object. Pretty simple, I made it in Deluxe
- Paint IV and used Pixel-3D v2.0 to convert the IFF brush to Imagine format.
- Also, in the conversion, I used an extrusion value of 15. I almost erased a
- REAL floppy disk when making is, because I inadvertently placed the disk on
- the screen of my 1084, I quickly checked it after doing this, making sure I
- didn't erase anything!!! :)
-
- I think the object is probably bigger than it should be, maybe it has
- redundant points, I'm not sure. But since I'm running on a 7 MHz Amiga, I'm
- not about to use Imagine's 'Merge' function, that can take hours...If
- anyone else cares to, let me know the results! At any rate, the object is
- 15,036 bytes uncompressed.
-
- In closing, support shareware and public domain authors, they deserve the
- hard work they've put into many products; and there shouldn't be such a
- think as copy-protection, if someone makes a product, don't copy it, BUY
- it. I personally have copied some programs, but only for the purpose of
- evaluation. If I believe it's worth the money, I'll buy it (although I
- didn't copy Imagine first, I bought it before every trying it). If I think
- the product is overpriced, I don't keep my copy, I erase it. I'd be better
- for more companies to release 'demo' or 'unsaving' versions of their
- products. That is what made me buy Power Windows 2.5c and Pixel-3D 2.0; I
- used the demo versions first.
-
- Remember, copying is illegal, but sometimes, to me, it seems like a viable
- option. I borrowed a friend's 3D-Professional v1.00. I almost bought that
- program. It was truely terrible in my opinion. Aside from the fact that it
- could generate Fractal Trees and Fractal Scenery (very nice!) the product
- wasn't worth the amount they asked. I simply go to his house and generate
- some 3D-Pro fractal trees and use Pixel-3D 2.0 to convert them to Imagine
- format.
