- Compression of PicturePak CGM files
- ───────────────────────────────────
- To conserve storage space, your PicturePak image files have been
- compressed into one file from which you may extract all, or any
- number of files you wish to use.
-
- The file size of each CGM, uncompressed, averages 4,500 bytes.
- The name of each image can be found in your PicturePak Image Guide.
-
- To uncompress your files, and store them in your own directory:
-
- 1. Determine, or create, the directory where you wish your
- PicturePak files to reside.
- Example (for hard drive): at the C:\ prompt, type: MD C:\GRAPHICS
-
- 2. Note the compressed file name on the PicturePak disk label.
- (Example: GEN32.EXE)
-
- 3. Insert the PicturePak disk in the appropriate floppy drive and
- change to that drive letter.
- Example: Type: A: (press Enter)
-
- 4. At the A:\ (or B:\) prompt, type the following items:
-
- A. The compressed file name (NOTE: Do NOT include the file
- extension) that you are retrieving files from. (You have noted it
- from your PicturePak disk label in Step 2).
-
- B. Press the Spacebar once.
-
- C. The filename(s) that you wish to retrieve. Include the file
- extension: .CGM
-
- D. Press the Spacebar once.
-
- E. The location (directory name) where the CGM file(s) will reside.
