  1. This material was submitted to me on disk directly by the author, Jurgen
  2. Forster, for inclusion in the library.  Thanks Jurgen!

  4. This is something that I think has been needed for a long time on the 
  5. Amiga.  Over the years, many people have submitted BASIC programs to me
  6. for inclusion in the library, but I have seldom used such material.  This
  7. is partly due to my own ignorance about BASIC, but mostly due to the
  8. complications of distributing BASIC programs in an immediately usable
  9. form.  Since I can't include the proprietary AmigaBASIC interpreter,
  10. interpreted programs require some assumptions about where the interpreter
  11. can be found, and how to run it to use the program.  Compiled programs
  12. that use a runtime library that is not linked with the program itself
  13. raise questions about the distribution status of the runtime library.
  14. I have usually chosen to avoid dealing with these complications.

  16. So, if any of you BASIC fans have some program that you would like to
  17. see included in the library, feel free to get it running with this
  18. compiler and submit it to me.  Be sure to state it was compiled with
  19. this compiler.  I will treat it with the same consideration that I now
  20. give to programs written in more "traditional" languages like assembly,
  21. C, Modula, Fortran, etc.
