- MINITOOL V1.3
- By Nicholas Harvey
- 14 October 1990
-
- Thankyou for taking an interest in my little program, I am sure that
- you will find some use for it somewhere!
-
- Running Minitool:
-
- From Workbench - Double click on its Icon
- From the CLI - Either 1. Type RUN MINITOOL
- or 2. Type MINITOOL ? for a list of options for
- executing functions from the CLI
-
- e.g. MINITOOL -60hz -0led
-
- This turns off the Audio filter and enables 60hz screen mode.
-
- So, what does minitool actually do?
-
- Well, it is a small collection of gadgets that you can click on. Each
- gadget has a different function:
-
- 60HZ, 50HZ, LED0, LED1, HELP & INFO
-
- 60HZ and 50HZ change between PAL and NTSC screen frequencies. This
- means that you can use the 60HZ function to make all those ST ported
- programs fill the entire PAL screen. There is only one drawback to
- this function though, and that is that it can only be used on TVs and
- monitors that can take a 60HZ video input. If your display suddenly
- vanishes behind a flickering, rolling mess of colour then your TV or
- monitor can not take the pace of the 60HZ video signal! Sorry, but
- that's life I'm afraid! You also need to have the new fatter agnus
- chip fitted to your machine. If you have one fitted then selecting
- this option will have the effect described above.
-
- LED0 and LED1 change the status of the power LED on your Amiga. LED0
- will dim/turn off your power LED and LED1 does the opposite. As well
- as doing this, the audio lopass filter will also be turned on/off in
- relation to the LED. With the lopass filter off, sound quality is
- greatly enhanced. Just try it and see! There is also a drawback to
- these functions too. If you own an Amiga 1000 then only your power LED
- will be effected. The lopass filter will remain on all the time.
-
- HELP displays a VERY brief version of these instructions, and INFO
- tells you a little about the program and me.
-
- So, I hope you can find a use for my program. You can't complain about
- its size as it is a mere 2100 Bytes long! So, bung it on your disks
- and spread it around a bit.
-
- Minitool is totally free PD so just enjoy using it!
-
- Greetings go to:
- Mark Higgins, Martin Guy, Piers Bolton, Richard Nuttall, and anyone
- who happens to own an Amiga computer!
-
- Thanx go to:
- - Queen (For being the best rock band in the world)
- - BBC Radio 1 FM's Steve Wright in the afternoon (The best show on the
- best station)
- - Commodore-Amiga Inc. (For the Amiga Hardware Reference Manual)
- - Abacus (For the Amiga System Programmer's Guide)
-
- See you around!
