  1. Instructions for installing the PCMCIA utility for the ThinkPad
  2. 760E/EL/ELD/ED
  3.  
  4. This file will reduce the heat generated in the PCMCIA socket when
  5. using Windows 95** when a PCMCIA modem is in use.
  6.  
  7. File required: TPTHRCTL.VXD    8909 bytes, CRC=x'D1C8'
  8.  
  9.  
  10. Installaion Guide:
  11.     Copy TPTHRCTL.VXD to c:\windows\system
  12.     Edit c:\windows\system.ini file and add the following line under
  13.        the "386enh" section:
  14.        device=TPTHRCTL.VXD
  15.     Reboot the system.
  16.     This will enable the utility.  It will then be effective during
  17.     serial communication of the modem card.
  18.  
  19. To disable the utility, remark out or remove the following line in the
  20. c:\windows\system.ini file:
  21.     device=TPTHRCTL.VXD
  22.
