- This fix applies to the following Operating Systems:

- Symptom:

- External trackpoint keyboard reset can occur while typing
- on the external keyboard in the following configuration:
-
- - TP760 (all)
- - External Trackpoint keyboard attached through Y-cable or through
- Dock.
- - Internal Trackpoint device enabled
-
- When the reset occurs, the keyboard LEDs flash and some keystrokes are
- lost.

- Fix:
- ----
- During boot, the YPTF$035.SYS driver checks for the presence of an
- external trackpoint device. If one is detected, it automatically
- disables the internal trackpoint device.

- Installation:
- -------------
- 1. Copy YPTF$035.SYS to the directory of your choice on your hard
- disk drive.
- 2. Add the following line to the beginning of your CONFIG.SYS file:
-
- DEVICE=C:\path\YPTF$035.SYS
-
- where path indicates the directory where installed.
- 3. Ensure that the internal trackpoint is enabled using ThinkPad
- Features.
- 4. Shutdown and reboot for the change to take effect.
