  16.     KAI's PowerTool Filter 2.0 is run using the 16M color (24bpp)

  20.     causing a stack imbalance.

  22. 3.  Fixed a "Not Enough Memory" error in PaintBrush by adding
  23.     an option that disables the Fatline & Polygon driver

  25.     height/width of 3 pixels with a pen width of 2/3 pixels.

  29.    CHIPS' driver implementation of the Fatline and Polygon

  175.    the following points regarding the Windows 3.1 linear
  176.    drivers:

  180.          One driver per color depth supports multi-spatial
  181.           resolutions.

  183.          Added pen compliance.

  185.          PC Video aware.

  187.          Supports DCI (primary surface).

  189.          Supports panning if driver resolution is more than the
  190.           display size of the panel.

  192.          Supports display switching using a Control Panel Applet
  193.           and/or with a hot key if the OEM BIOS meets the CHIPS
  194.           specification for display switching.

  196.           NOTE:  Display switching is not allowed if Windowed VM

  234. 3. Some applications, such as CorelDraw, PhotoStyler and
  235.    Fotoman, assume 16 color drivers are VGA planar drivers and
  236.    renders the image in the planar format.  These applications
  237.    do not correctly interpret Plane and BitsPixel information
  238.    returned by the driver, and are not displayed correctly in
  239.    our 4bpp packed pixel driver (LINEAR4.DRV).
  240.    The following table compares information returned by two
  241.    different formats for 16 color drivers:

  249. 4. CHIPS' driver implementation of the Ellipse and Round
  250.    Rectangle function is different (one pixel off) from
  251.    Microsoft's driver implementation.  CHIPS' RoundRect
  252.    driver implementation causes a problem where the bottom
  253.    line disappears in TCALC.EXE of the ESS Audio card.  To
  254.    fix this problem, make the following change in the
  255.    [DISPLAY] section of the SYSTEM.INI file:

  259.        RoundRect=0   ;disable round rectangle driver
  260.                       implementation
  261.        Ellipse=0     ;disable ellipse driver implementation

  263.    By default, the driver implementation for the
  264.    Ellipse/RoundRect function is enabled.  There will be some
  265.    impact on performance by disabling the Ellipse/RoundRect
  266.    driver implementation.

  270. 5. The following anomalies exist with drivers in the industry
  271.    other than CHIPS drivers:
  272.  
  273.          Windows 3.1 MPLAYER.EXE has a problem when displaying
  274.           HELP with high color and true color drivers.  This
  275.           problem is fixed in Windows 3.11 MPLAYER.EXE.
  276.  
  277.          Windows 3.1 Paintbrush has a problem with a black box
  278.           appearing when pasting a DIB and immediately flipping
  279.           the object horizontally.  This problem is in the GDI
  280.           and appears in most 256 color drivers.
  281.  
  282.          Windows 3.1 Paintbrush has a problem with low memory
  283.           when printing a color image in high color drivers.
  284.           This image is successfully printed by doing a cut-and-
  285.           paste to Word for Windows.
  286.  
  287.          Windows 3.1 HELP screen has a problem with text
  288.           appearing dark (black) instead of green in high color
  289.           drivers.
  290.  
  291.          Windows 3.1 DCT ROP3 test has a problem with the 32k
  292.           color(15bpp) driver. This problem occurs with other 32k
  293.           color drivers.
  294.  
  295.          The TDW(Turbo Debugger) in Turbo C++ for Japanese
  296.           Windows 3.1 causes an error which states "Illegal Video
  297.           Mode".
  298.  
  299.          Quick Recorder (Video for Windows) has a problem
  300.           displaying small fonts in  high & true color drivers.
  301.           The application does not allocate sufficient memory for
  302.           the small font, but it successfully displays large
  303.           fonts.
