  8. What This Diskette Does
  9. -----------------------
  10.  
  11. This System Program Service diskette updates the system program stored
  12. in ROM of the following ThinkPad models:
  13.  
  14. - ThinkPad 365C, 365CS, 365CD, 365CSD, 365E, 365ED.
  15.  
  16. There are two diskettes included in this release.  Diskette 1 is used
  17. for the following countries/languages:
  18.  
  19.      - United States (English)
  20.      - Danish
  21.      - Finnish
  22.      - French
  23.      - German
  24.      - Italian
  25.      - Japanese
  26.  
  27. Diskette 2 is used for the following countries/languages:

  29.      - Dutch
  30.      - Norwegian

  36. If you are experiencing one of the problems listed in the following
  37. Summary of Problem Fixes section, please follow the instructions given
  38. in the Updating System Programs section below to update the system
  39. program of the above-listed ThinkPad computer.

  79. 2.0.07  The system powers-off automatically, when you shut-down

  81. 2.0.07  Resolves the keyboard problem if you exit the BIOS Setup
  82.         screen (CTRL+ALT+F11) in DOS from Windows, without saving.

  105. Updating System Programs
  106. ------------------------
  107.  
  108. Notes: - You need an AC adapter and a charged battery pack to update
  109.          the system program.
  110.  
  111. 1.  Print these instructions or display on another computer.
  112. 2.  Firmly connect the AC adapter to the computer.
  113. 3.  Attach the diskette drive to the computer if you are using a
  114.     ThinkPad 365CD/CSD/ED.
  115. 4.  Insert the System Program Service Diskette for your
  116.     country/language into the diskette drive and turn on the computer.
  117.     Follow the instructions on the screen.
  118.  
  119.     Warning: Do not turn off or suspend the computer until the update
  120.              has been completed. IF YOU TURN OFF OR SUSPEND THE
  121.              COMPUTER WHILE THE UPDATE IS STILL IN PROGRESS, THE SYSTEM
  122.              BOARD MAY HAVE TO BE REPLACED.

  124. 5.  A message will flash on the screen when the update has been
  125.     completed. Remove the System Program Service Diskette from the A:
  126.     Drive when the message appears and reboot the system.
  127.  
  128.     Your ThinkPad 365 is now updated with the new BIOS and is ready to
  129.     be used.

  132.     The BIOS version and date are shown in the upper left corner of the
  133.     screen whenever the system is booted.

  184. For Windows 95** Users
  185. ----------------------
  186. This release of BIOS includes Plug and Play resource information for the
  187. IRDA infrared port.  Windows 95 does not currently load any drivers for
  188. this port when it is recognized, so you may encounter problems running
  189. Puma Tranxit or other Windows based IR applications.  To correct this
  190. problem perform the following steps:
  191.  
  192. 1. Boot up the system to Windows 95 desktop.
  193.  
  194. 2. Go to the Device Manager.
  195.    Go to the Ports. "REMOVE" all COM Ports.
  196.    (Do NOT reboot).
  197.  
  198. 3. Go to MSDOS prompt. Go to C:\WINDOWS\INF directory.
  199.    Type EDIT MSPORTS.INF and press ENTER.
  200.    Go to "STD"  section of this file.
  201.    Change the following statement:
