  7. What These Diskettes Do
  8. -----------------------
  9. The Mwave DSP Features Diskette for Windows 95 #1, #2, and #3
  10. provides the Mwave features for Windows 95.
  11.  
  12. Supported Models
  13. ----------------
  14. 1) The following ThinkPad computers equipped with the Mwave features:
  15.     - ThinkPad 755CE, 755CD, 755CSE, 755CV, 755CDV, and 755CX
  16.     - ThinkPad 760C, 760CD, 760E, and 760ED
  17.  
  18. 2) For the following ThinkPad computers with Windows 95
  19.    installed and plug and play supported,
  20.    the BIOS date must be no earlier than January 1996.
  21.     - ThinkPad  755CE, 755CD, 755CSE, 755CV, 755CDV, and 755CX
  22.

  31.  - (Fix) Connectivity to some modems that violate V.34
  32.        specifications has improved.

  34.  - (Fix) The audio problem of not being able to play some
  35.        wave files when using the 28800 modem is fixed in
  36.        Windows 3.1 and Windows 95.

  38.  - (New) An uninstall function has been added along with
  39.        improvements to the installation.

  41.  - (New) For a DOS/Windows 3.1 environment, the Mwave DOS and Windows
  42.        installations and directories have been combined. Therefore,
  43.        support for "DOS only system" is dropped.

  45.  - (New) An Mwave-written application "Mwave Quick Tests" has been
  46.        included, which helps you isolate problems quickly.

  48.  - (Fix) The board driver has been modified to
  49.        fix a general protection fault (GPF) problem
  50.        during suspend mode.

  52.  - (Fix) The problem of some wave files of a particular frequency
  53.        not playing has been fixed.

  55.  - (Fix) Some Class 1 fax fixes have been included.

  58.  - (Restriction)
  59.       The modem name in Windows 95 has changed slightly to
  60.       "ThinkPad 28.8 Data Fax VOD Modem."  This can cause
  61.       the Windows 95 dialer program or other Windows 95 applications
  62.       to not recognize the modem.  Correct this by going
  63.       to the Dialing properties of the application and
  64.       changing the modem name to the new Mwave modem name.

  66.  - (Restriction)
  67.       The shutdown and "Exit to DOS" option from the
  68.       Start button in Windows 95 will fail if Mwave release 2.22
  69.       is installed over the previous preload.  The fix for
  70.       this is to locate the "Exit to DOS" pif file in the
  71.       Windows directory and edit the file to change
  72.       references to the MWD directory to MWW and change the
  73.       Mwave board driver to MWD50430.EXE.

  75.  - (Restriction)
  76.       Some games may require the SET BLASTER statement to
  77.       include a T3 parameter to get sound.
  78.  
  79.  - (Restriction)
  80.       The "Exit to DOS Mode" used in the preload
  81.       will not allow the Mwave modem to work
  82.       because the COM port is not in the BIOS data area.
  83.       Therefore, some applications using Mwave may not work.
  84.  
  85.  - (Restriction)
  86.       The New Zealand World Trade tables do not recognize a
  87.       dial tone.   A patch is available if needed.

  94. Note: If you install the Mwave feature in your ThinkPad computer
  95.       for the first time, you also need to install the Mwave DSP
  96.       Features Diskette for MIDI, #1 (for Windows), #2, #3, #4, #5,
  97.       and #6.
