- This diskette contains Base Video Handler for Chips F65530 VGA (BVHVGA.DLL).
- It fixes the tall font problem in OS/2 text modes (extra pixels, underlining,
- & similar effects). This DLL has been created and tested on OS/2 2.1.
- It should work for OS/2 2.0 also.
-
- Note: this updated driver is for use ONLY with the ThinkPad 350/350C & the
- PS/Note 425/425C
-
- Installation Procedure:
-
- 1. Install OS/2 for VGA.
- 2. Shutdown & then reboot the machine from the OS/2 installation diskette.
- 3. Insert Disk #1 when prompted & press enter. When prompted again, press
- escape to halt the installation procedure & go to an OS/2 prompt (A:>).
- 4. Change to the drive on which OS/2 has been installed (typically C:).
- 5. Change directory to \OS2\DLL.
- 6. Rename the currrent BVHVGA.DLL to different name (such as BVHVGA.OLD).
- 7. Copy new BVHVGA.DLL for Chips F65530 from the diskette to \OS2\DLL
- directory.
- 8. Remove any diskettes & reboot. The driver installation is now complete.

- Additional Hints for running OS/2 on IBM ThinkPad 350 & PS/Note 425
-
- The following changes are strongly encouraged for best operation of OS/2 on
- the ThinkPad 350 & PS/Note 425:
-
- 1. Make certain that the vertical position option (in the Configuration
- Utility) is set to "Expand":
-
- - press & hold the Fn key & press the F1 key
- - press PgDn once (you should be on page 2)
- - check the Vertical Position setting - the best setting for OS/2 is
- "Expand"
- - if necessary, use the left or right arrow keys to change this option
- setting
-
- 2. Change the system pointer size to 'large':
-
- - see the OS/2 README file (typically in the root directory of your hard
- file) for a description of a short REXX program which will change the
- size of the system pointer (mouse pointer) for increased visibility on
- LCD screens
-
- The section heading is "DISPLAY ADAPTERS" & the program is called
- LARGE.CMD
