- Hi guys 'n' gals in 17 Bit land,
- Its The A.P.H.I.D! here...that stands for
-
- Anthony Paul Hancock Is Daft
- ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
-
- but when it comes to Dungeon Master I am DEADly serious...seriously!!!
- Oh what the heck...nobody believes me so I'll continue....
-
- I have Dungeon Master [ as if you cuddunt guess! ] but I got fed up with
- having to use a separate disc for each saved level...I'm fussy about
- wastage and economy and things like that you see.
-
- Anyway, I decided to create directories for each saved level on ONE disc
- and do away with all this waste lark { and save money etc... } but I had
- to boot up the WorkBench and manipulate the DungeonSave disc with the CLI
- to get anywhere : I got fed up with this also !
-
- Then one day I had a brainwave! I waved back { I'm polite as well } and
- set to work on a bootable disc which would enable me to choose which level
- I wanted to play in and at the touch of a key would go ahead and copy the
- relevant saved_game file into the correct position.
-
- Thus this disc was born, raised, nurtured and has come into bloom. I am
- ready to release it into the public domain through you bootiful people
- but can you check that I'm not infringing any copyrights first please...?
-
- I read somewhere that the authors of the { brilliant } Dungeon Master
- wanted the players to get so excited that they would all start to exchange
- characters via disc { or whatever else you can exchange them on ! } so I
- thought I'd take this thought a stage or two further... well, here it be!
-
- I've used common commands to avoid the risk of spreading any viri and the
- keymap was created using the SETKEY utility on ST/Format coverdisc #11
- from May 1989 in case you are interested...
-
- The ViewILBM command I found on the January 1990 Amiga Format coverdisk
- number 6 { as well as the maps } if you want to check 'em out...
-
- I hope you can release this disc 'cos I've always wanted to have my name
- { NB NOT MY NAMESAKE } plastered everywhere...except perhaps the toilets
- in Harrods...
-
- You may notice that there are hints and tips hidden on the keymap. These
- are designed to help some of the nosier { or more desperate } Dungeoneers.
- I've left it up to them to decide what to do with the information...well
- you can't make it too easy for them can you....!
-
- Talking of tips...in the room with 9 pressure plates on level 2 just walk
- onto the first plate, step back off it and walk forwards onto all three
- plates in front and through the gates...simple eh? No sidestepping at all!
-
- Oh well, I s'pose I'll be going now...but just one small criticism before
- I leave...
-
- As Chaos Strikes Back uses the characters from Dungeon Master, why didn't
- the authors allow us to save the game AFTER completing the game...?
- And just WHEN is Chaos going to be released...we're all waiting....
-
