Please send me comments, bug reports and "MOST" important "NEW" virus for update purpose for our virus killers. In return I'll send you the latest version of this disk . In the following you will find some short information about the programs and how to use them . Please read all doc files in order to get the full advantage of the exellent programs. Anybody who sends a new virus to me , will get the latest version of this disk in return and the thanks from the authors and me too . See my address and the donation form below. 1.1 How to get a new update --------------------------- There will be a new version of this disk at least 30 times a year . If you are interested to get the newest edition , I'll send you one non-profit if you send me 4 US$ ( inside Europe ) / 5 US$ ( outside Europe ). This disk contains "ONLY" Public Domain programs , which means that you can spread the disk witout any problems at all. 1.2 Shareware donation ---------------------- On this disk you will find some of the newest , and best viruskillers ever made, thanks to the authors. If you are not a poor student or so, send some money to the authors please . Note that most of these splendid programs are shareware. Follow the ethics , and send your donation to the authors if you use these programs regularly . Remember that the authors spend thousands of hours to help you and me. What a life. 1.3 Help to translate --------------------- If you are a very "smart" freak , translate this file to your own language, spread the disk and you will always get the latest version from me. Note that you are welcome to make your own intro , write your own name and so on the disk , but remeber always to use the name "The New SuperKillers" with the correct version number . You are also welcome to write your own additional comments in my Important file, but not in the doc files. 1.4 How to pervent viruses -------------------------- The simple way: ALWAYS write protect your disks. ALWAYS turn your Amiga off 60 seconds and on again before you insert a write enabled disk. The best way: Use this disk and send it to your swap friends . Don't swap with lazy guys , who send you virus infected disks more than one time.. We can all make mistakes, but half- brains like that should never get programs from us....... 1.5 How to use this disk ------------------------ This disk will check your memory for any resident in RAM in the startup. This means that you will get a warning if there is a virus ( known or unknown ) in your memory. This is done by KDVIII and VMK, the first runs as a background task. The best and easiest way to use this disk , is that you check your disk for virus as a final operation after you have seen the contents , the version, the introes etc. Inserting The New SuperKillers , you will at once get a requester informing you that something is resident in your memory. A virus perhaps....? If positive hunt the virus down. No mercy or weaknes, but try to fix that particular kind of virus . If the virus is not mentioned in the Virus Tutor below, send it to me . Don't use this disk and make sure that the virus really infects an other disk . Use a copy of this disk to infect , and send the disk to me stating everything that happened , when you met the virus. 1.6 Specially for harddisk owners --------------------------------- 1.61 Virus which infects harddisk --------------------------------- If you have a harddisk be very careful with the Xeno, The Smilling Cancer, and The Travelling Jack viruses, these are the first viruses specially made for harddisk. Almost every non-boot virus is wellknown to be able to harm your harddisk. However , very few people know that boot virus can infect your harddisk too . If you have an auto-boot harddisk you may get your sector 0 and 1 on cylinder 0 infected , and you will get a message saying something like "Not a DOS disk in unit 0". 1.62 If your harddisk is stoped ------------------------------- If you get virus problems , and you can't start your hard disk , try to fix the problem with a reboot of your own harddisk installation disk in order to start up your harddisk. That is very useful. Remember that file viruses (non-bootviruses) almost every time, infects the first C-Command in your s/startup-sequence, delete this command , and place the original C-Command ( found from your Workbench disk or like ) 1.63 Harddisk virus killers --------------------------- Ordinary killers: ---------------- For checking harddisk you have to use the file options in Zerovirus, BootX, and VT (PgrVTest), click on " Drives " choose eg. DH0. Special Killers : --------------- Use the splendid virus killer VScan , specially maked for harddisk purpose read the doc carefully please, it is a very, very good virus killer. This is only a demo version here on this disk . If you are registered user you wil get a much better version with e.g. an exellent analyze mode, witch detects new viruses. LList is a exellent tools to find files infected of non-bootviruses on disk or harddisk by using it's date / hour reading , specially if you get a new unknown virus . It don't find viruses , but by reading the time you will be abel to find the virus in that file , witch normally have the newest write time stated. ( If you have your clock correctly running ). Try to use the ordinary C Command " List " too. 1.7 Bug reports --------------- The only known bug I have found, is diferent problems with vector settings when you run BootX . Futher more BootX have problems, that you can't reset the memory by clicking in the BootX requester . The vectors are $0020385A, and $ 000008E8, just ignore the requester and click "No", it is not......a a virus....take it easy! IF you click "Yes" it will affect, that the other programs maybe will not run,..... in this chase use the "ClearMem" program. If you find other bugs please inform the authors or me about the problems. 2.0 About the Programs ---------------------- This disk is always contaning the newest ultimate virus killers ever made. Please........remember to send a shareware gift to the programmer of your favorite programs , this is the only way to get even better virus killers for the future! 2.1 Virus Protection ------------------- Budbrains Productions "Virus Protection" is an exellent residual virus killer for all purpose, and is very easy to use . Please attention for the exellent......analyse mode, witch detects new unknown viruses too..... This killer knows now about 112 different viruses. Remember you can't use this residual killer, if you have the new fat Agnus 8372 A in your Amiga! 2.2 Kill Da Virus ----------------- KDV III : Is exellent for background running on user disks ! Therefore you have the advantage , of having a virus programs still checking your disk as a background task! This program is the only one for Amiga ,....which is able to prevent virus infection while you are running other programs . The killer are by background running abel to find new viruses by checking of the vector settings. Examble of the s/startup-sequence: BackgroundRun KDVIII 2.3 ZeroVirus III ----------------- Zerovirus : For guys with some experience , professionals ( and you ), Zerovirus is a very very fine program with many excellent features i.e.: a. Learn function for new bootvirus. b. Save function for your bootblocks. c. Non-boot virus check options. d. Read / write error check function. e. Many Bootblock tools to install. f. Options for printer . g. Harddisk check. Try to use the Zerovirus print options , if you want virus documentations. This disk contains a lot of printerdrivers in order to make it easy for you to use. Please note the excellent feature " The ZeroVirus " has to learn new boot-block virus , particularly that you are able to move the " pointers " all over the boot-block area ; it is very IMPORTANT for some types of virus i.e all Lamer Exterminator boot-viruses. A big disadvantages is, that the killer don't have an analyze mode to find new viruses. 2.5 VT ------ Use the exellent "VT" Virus Killer it is a German killer , but I think you will be very suprised how easy you are abel to use this ultimative Killer. The author had done a lot of work with documentations and like. Very good inded.............. 2.6 BootX --------- BootX is a very good allround virus killer with file check , learn option for bootviruses , and all what you need for a good virus killer program, except from an analyze mode, but may be...... you will find it in the next version of this ultimative killer. Attention don't worry about the vector message: OpenLibrary $ 00203332 and Timer Int . $ 000008E3 this isn't virus , but vectors from disk start-up. Please read the bug report capture 1.7. 2.7 VMK ------- VMK is a very unique virus killer special for your startup-sequence with a exellent analyze function. To this day.....I don't have found a new virus, without VMK could not find it. Please remark, that VMK have a very splendid feature, which show the virus text and the most..... interresting point, ALSO if you have got a new non- boot virus. 2.8 CLI and Virus killer Tools ------------------------------ By using CLI, you will find some very, very .....useful programs and tools in the "virus killer.Tools" Dir and C Dir , which gives you better results in hunting virus. Devs/Keymaps De.. .maps Change keyboards. Devs/Printers De.. .ters Change printers. Preferences Pre.. .es Change printer preferences. C/Infect Infect Infects B.B. on DF0 or DF1. BGS-9/TTV-1 Virus Find it Learning purpose only. SCA Virus Find it Learning purpose only VMK VMk Killer for startup seq. The new Setclock command Setclock No more clock problems. The new Setpatch command Setpatch Less of e.g. guru problems. KDVIII KDVIII Background virus killer. VP VP Exellent resident killer. And C-comands : Dir, List, Info etc.. 3.0 Most search and txt. printing --------------------------------- Try to use the print options in the menu of Most to print out the docs. file or page and the exellent search feature ! 4.0 Important this disk contains viruses ---------------------------------------- NOTE, that the BGS-9 / TTV-1 Virus is write-protected on this disk ; you can't remove the virus, but it DOES NOT infect your memory or disks in this special case . You can only use the SCA virus on this disk , if you use the "infect" command , and infect an other disk. Be VERY carefull with the virus, or you will destroy some of your disks ! This virus is ALIVE ...! BUT will NOT infect other disk from this disk ! These viruses are ONLY on this disk to do your familary with virus hunting, by using the different virus killers in practice. 5.0 Resident programs --------------------- If you meet some residents programs like System Z , Guardian and the like install them . Such programs are now very , very dangerous ; because they can hide the new viruses. ( This will happen , when you examine your Amiga memory for virus , with the new generation of virus killers). 6.0 About clockvirus and like ----------------------------- Please note that NO......................... virus , can infect your clock, and REMAIN alive in your clock ! There are some programs and disk bugs, which are able to make strange things with your clock. I recommend that you use a program called "System Test Program ver. 9.1", to repair your clock, if you have problems. There are other alternatives if you don`t succeed : 1. Type " SETCLOCK OPT RESET " or 2. Use your Amiga Basic and type " Poke 14417980 "( HEX address dc003c ) then you will get a zero ( 0 ) on the HOLD BIT in your clock, and the clock will start again. 3. The newest setclock command on this disk, and on Workbench 1.3/2.0 is now able to fix most of the problems. 7.0 How to remove BGS-9 virus and other fileviruses --------------------------------------------------- This virus is a non-boot virus ( marked " F " in the virus tutor ). It is taking the name in the first command in the startup-sequence ( infects this command like almost all non-boot viruses) . But this virus is placing the original c/command in the devs directory as a nameless file. You can remove this virus and other viruses like this by following the instructions: 1. Look at your startup-sequence and take note of the first command. 2. Find it in c or root dir ( filesize 2608 bytes ) and delete this. 3. Load a utility like SID, Diskmaster or like. 4. Look after the nameless file in the devs directory. 5. Rename this file to its original name ( the first command name in the startup-sequence ), and move it to the c directory or whereever it belongs. 6. Please remember that several virus killers (VirusX and KDVIII) think you have a infected disk, if you don't rename this nameless file. And a little COPY hint : If you have errors , when you are using X-Copy, try to copy to RAM and back again . Knows more than 100 viruses. --------------- This virus killer is a must for busy people because the exellent check routine , which searches out both boot and non-boot viruses runs like lighting. KDV V has one important detail, a superb analysis routine which finds almost all unknown viruses. With it come several virus tools of really good quality such as: 1. Hard disk virus brake , which effectively prevents viruese from infecting your harddisk. 2. Background virus check , which keeps continual surveillance over stored media such as disks , which are changed, RAM, hard disk and so on. Therefore we have determined to do something AGAINST IT . We offer each 50 - XXX $ to the first guy , who is sending us the address and name on a virus maker to our group. (It's only 0.5 cents a week if you think about, that a it takes 2 years to finish a case by the court, I think that all can affort to do that!) Attention! The reward is ONLY.....to be paid, if the virus maker is convict by the law , therefore try to send some evidence for guilt , we can send for the law . I hope we are able to collect about 1000 $ for each man, who will help us. If we got more mony, we will use them for the next and so on. You shall first pay the donations after 1-2 years from th date of catching the virus maker, when the laws has declared the jugdment, (I am saying it if you don't have money for it now).
