- Bob Entry Information.
- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
-
- Bob Entry is a program for Tele SubTitle users who don't have the Easy Amos
- `Bob Editor' program (or similar). This program lets you Cut Out your "Cut-
- `N' Paste" type Fonts and then put them into Amos's Bob Bank.
-
- The program is naff compared to Easy Amos's `Bob-Editor' program, but it does
- do the job... Just! You simply load your Fonts Picture and then start Cut-
- ting out the Characters, putting each Character into the Bob Bank when you've
- finished editing it.

- Options...
- ^^^^^^^^^^
-
- Load: Load a Picture - You can load a picture anytime.
-
-
- Grab: Get the currently loaded picture from memory and let the user Grab the
- Characters from it - Once you've loaded your first picture you can
- start Grabbing Characters from your currently loaded picture anytime.
-
-
- Save: This Saves the Bob Bank. The Filename is set to `Bank'+`A' (BankA).
- Once you've saved your first bank the letter will move up by one, so
- your second bank will be saved as BankB, your third bank as BankC...
- and so on until BankZ, after BankZ the letter will go back to A.
-
-
- Put: This puts your Grabbed Character into the selected bank Position.
-
-
- Tools...
- ^^^^^^^^
-
- 1) Move the Grabbed Character around the edit area. This allows you to place
- your grabbed character in the upper left corner.
-
-
- 2) Make your Grabbed Character smaller. This will cut down on area that your
- grabbed character doesn't need, thus making your Bank, etc smaller in
- size. Note: Once this is selected you Cannot go back to tool 1 until you
- use the Grab option again. so use tool 1 first and then tool 2.
-
-
- 3) Arrow Up. Use with Tool 1 and 2.
-
-
- 4) Arrow Left. Use with Tool 1 and 2.
-
-
- 5) Change the edit area's Box colour so that you can hopefully see the Box.
-
-
- 6) Select a Bank position. When you use the Put option the Grabbed Character
- will be put into this selected bank position.
-
-

-
-
- General Notes...
- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
-
- Your Characters are limited to a size of 59 by 59 pixels - this should be
- enough for most Cut `N' Paste type Fonts. Most Cut `N' Paste type Fonts are
- usually 50 by 50 pixels or less.
-
- The program has no Load Bank option. This is because it shouldn`t take you
- that long to cut out all your characters, put them into the bank and then
- save the bank. The only real reason for needing this option would be: if you
- saved the bank and then realised you made a mistake with one of your
- characters. This shouldn`t be the case with this program because you can
- re-grab a character if you make a mistake with it, by using the Grab option.
-
- There are no options to Edit a cut out character simply because your Font
- Picture should have been designed on an art package, thus, all Editing should
- have been done aswell.
-
- Just in case you need to delete a pixel or two I`ve made the mouse put a
- pixel at the current mouse position if you press mouse key 1, when your`e in
- the edit area. This will be in the Background colour - Colour 0.
-
-
- Important Notes...
- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
-
- Always leave a Blank Line on the Bottom (Horizontal) line and on the Right-
- hand-side (Vertical) line. This is because of the program's calculations
- when it comes to clipping, etc (Tools 1 and 2). This is nothing to worry
- about because if you do find your character missing its bottom line and/or
- its right-hand-side vertical line then just re-grab the character.
-
- I`ve put an example picture (Filename is: B.E-ExPic) in the Pictures drawer
- to show you how to set up your Font Picture - for easy grabbing of your
- characters, Just load it into the program. The example picture shows you how
- to find the Base line and Top line of your non-CAPITAL characters by using
- the letter Z and 2 green lines. All you do is grab your character with the 2
- green lines included. When you come to move your character to the top left
- corner, inside the edit area, you move the character up until the top green
- line disappears. You then put the bottom of the edit area, using Tool 2, over
- the bottom green line - Covering the bottom green line. If your character has
- a tail on it (i.e. y g p etc) then you will put the bottom of the edit area
- underneath the tail of course and not over the bottom green line. Once the
- above is done you simply put the character into the bank with the Put option.
-
- In the example picture I've put the green lines 1 pixel away from the letter
- Z this is because I use `Bob Editor' which is more accurate than this program
- If I were you I would put the Bottom green line perhaps 3 pixels away from
- the letter Z. The Top line should always be 1 pixel away.
-
- There are no checks on what type of picture you are loading, i.e Lowres,
- Hires, etc so make sure your picture is Lowres otherwise the program won't
- work.
-
- I've already converted quite a few Cut `N' Paste type Fonts (look at the
- `Tele Spares' and `Colour Swap' disks in your local P.D Library). Some are
- Big, some are Medium, some have 4 colours, some have 16 colours, etc, etc.
-
- The above disks only work with Tele Title 2 Lowres, However, I will probly
- make 'Tele Spares 4' for Tele SubTitle which will be ready by/before 30.9.94.
