  8. The user group was formed on the 2nd February 1994 for various reasons:
  9.

  11.    1. To give Amiga users the opportunity to help for the computer.
  12.  
  13.    2. To offer professional and cheap services that will benefit any Amiga 
  14.       owner who uses them.
  15.  
  16.    3. To promote the use of the Amiga as far as possible among non-Amiga 
  17.       sections.

  19. The group has two forms of membership to welcome any Amiga owner. Firstly 
  20. there is the free membership. We feel from experience some owners are 
  21. reluctant to spend hard earned cash on a user group that is new and not yet
  22. ystablished. Fair enough. We agree in some ways with that statement. That is
  23. why the services we offer are not only professional but the are extremely 
  24. cheap, far cheaper than the same services offered in the PC sector or 
  25. commercial scene (as in the case of the typesetting). This free membership 
  26. means the member can buy as much PD as he/she likes, use as many services as
  27. they like and ask for help as much as they need. This is no obligation to 
  28. purchase but if you ordered a couple of disks of PD when sending back the 
  29. membership disk to be updated we would be more than please. However, there 
  30. is no worry if you don't. We just hope that you enjoy your membership and if
  31. you have any problems that you bring them forward and make us aware as soon
  32. as possible.

  34. The PLATINUM membership is the highest membership we have. ALL members are 
  35. treated equally but platinum members may be entitled to further benefits. 
  36. Each month the membership disk will be sent out to platinum members with a 
  37.  ittle bit more info than the regular updated disk. Also if the group joins 
  38. with a software "swap-shop" then this membership may be included in the deal. 
  39. If, however, you want to update you membership disk more regularly than once
  40. a month we ask you to send it back with a stamp to cover the return postage.
  41. Not much to ask for really.

  48. Other than the regular and professional PD we offer a range of services to 
  49. ALL members which is outlined below:

  54. 1. Local Consultancy
  55. --------------------

  57. Based on the PC sector's commercial consultancy. We feel that the Amiga 
  58. deserves some kind of help service like this so it is here for your use. It
  59. is restricted to a certain area but drop us a line and check whether your 
  60. area is accessible.
  61. lThe idea behind this service help WITHIN the HOMES of the Amiga owners 
  62. themselves. It is all well and good giving help by magazine or by computer 
  63. screen but there is the practicality side of help missing. With this we can
  64. show the user how to make a disk with contents list or show them generally 
  65. the basics of their computer STEP-BY-STEP within the comfort of 
  66. their homes. The intention is for the user to understand how the help was 
  67. completed and he/she should be able to do the same thing after we leave. We
  68. cover all types of work from software installation, Hard disk installation 
  69. and software knowledge to disk compiling, workbench help and the command 
  70. line interface. Give us call and discuss what you what doing and we may be 
  71. able to and help you do it.

  73. Price will be VERY cheap and the latest prices and up-to-date information on
  74. this service can be found in you latest disk magazine.

  81. 2. DTP/Typesetting
  82. ------------------

  84. At the time of writing (10/10/93) we are unsure of the exact offering of 
  85. this service but basically if you present us with a design we will compile 
  86. lhis into a DTP format or word processed format. We will cover basic DTP and
  87. ANY kind of word processed document. It could be a CV or letter, report or 
  88. essay. If you give us the details we will give you a very cheap price and 
  89. compile it for you.

  95. 3. Group Meetings

  98. Will be local and the meetings will be outlined in the updated disk magazine. 
  99. This will offer a chance for the members to meet and also for members to 
  100. discuss face-to-face with NAUG "officials", buy PD or book DTP or 
  101. consultancy services.

  109. Swap your old games for games which other members may be interested in 
  110. swapping.

  120. Northern Amiga Users Group and First Computer Centre in Leeds have joined
  121. together to offer members up to 5% off hardware and 7% off software.

  123. This amazing discount is only available to the Northern Amiga Users Group.
  124. First Computer Centre is renowned for it's excellent service and is one
  125. of the top Amiga retailers in this country. It was voted number one Amiga
  126. retailer by CU Amiga in January 1993!

  128. The offer is open to PLATINUM members only. The discount will be available
  129. in the form of 3 vouchers a year which will be sent to all Platinum members
  130. en membership commencement. Members will be able to obtain the discount by
