  10. RenderCalc is a Shareware program.  If you find that you use this program
  11. please send the Shareware registration fee of $15 (US dollars) to the
  12. address listed at the bottom of the Registration.form file.

  16. What do you get when you register?
  17. ----------------------------------

  19. When you register your copy of RenderCalc you will receive a personalized
  20. keyfile.  This keyfile will remove all of the Shareware Notices which
  21. appear whenever you start or exit the program, as well as when you click
  22. on the zoom gadget.  These notices will NEVER appear again as long as the
  23. keyfile is not removed or tampered with.

  25. Another benefit of registering is that I will take into account the
  26. requests of registered users if/when I revise the program.  If you're not
  27. a registered user, you can still send in a request for an addition or
  28. change, but I won't be as quick to implement those requests.  I will give
  29. more consideration to the requests of the registered users.

  33. What the heck is a keyfile?
  34. ---------------------------

  36. A keyfile, literally, 'unlocks' a program.  In this case, the keyfile will
  37. remove all of the Shareware Notices which appear.
  38.  
  39. Installation of this keyfile needs to be done only once.  You will receive
  40. complete and concise instructions about what to do with the keyfile upon
  41. registration.

  43. The keyfile encryption system is, as it stands, quite solid.  If, however,
  44. I decide to change the encryption scheme, all registered users will
  45. recieve updated keyfiles, which reflect these changes, as soon as possible.

  47. The whole purpose of the keyfile system was to remove the burden and
  48. hassle of mailing disks, which is more expensive and slow.  If you have an
  49. Internet email account I can send the keyfile, which is just a set of
  50. numbers, and instructions through Email.  Otherwise I can send it over
  51. regular postal mail.  With every update, you won't have to wait for a disk
  52. to arrive (which would be an additional cost above the shareware fee.)  Every
  53. time a new version of the program comes out, your keyfile will work with
  54. the 'regular' Unregistered version.  In effect your keyfile will Register
  55. or 'unlock' the current and all future versions of the program automatically.
  56. If anything is disabled in future versions of the program, your keyfile will
  57. enable them, allowing you to use the program to it's full extent.

  59. Your keyfile will be personalized.  This means that in addition to
  60. unlocking the RenderCalc program, your name will be encrypted into the
  61. keyfile as well.  This is why it is important, when you register, to
  62. include your full name.

  66. How the heck to I register?
  67. ---------------------------

  69. It couldn't be easier.  There is a file called 'Registration.form' which is
  70. a template you may print out.  When you print out the form, just neatly print
  71. (so I can read it :-) ) the requested information.  Your full name and address
  72. are mandatory.  The rest of the information is optional, although, I would
  73. like to hear your comments.

  75. After you fill out the registration form, enclose a check or money order
  76. for $15 (US dollars) to Daniel S. Milling Jr. at the address listed at the
  77. bottom of the registration form.  (If you are overseas, please add $1 to cover
  78. postage if you don't have an internet account.)

  80. It will probably take about 2 weeks or less for you to get your keyfile
  81. through the US mail (not sure about foreign.)  If you have an Internet
  82. account which can receive Email, PLEASE include this on the registration
  83. form.  If you include an Internet Email address I will send all of the
  84. necessary information via Email.  You will get the information MUCH faster
  85. than by regular mail (especially foreign folks.)  Via Email, I can send it
  86. within a day or two of my receiving your form and payment (you should get the
  87. info within one week or less from the time you mailed it.)
