-
- Dear Amiga enthusiast,
-
- In this document I will out line what ProCAD Electronic V1.0 has to
- offer you and give a little history of the program itself. First I wish to
- thank you all for buying or 'coming by' this demo, it is of course public
- domain and you may copy it and pass it on as much as you like, and in fact I
- will be grateful for you doing just that. By the way, let me introduce my
- self to you, my name is Derek Pell and I have been evolved in both
- electronics and computer programming for some years now.
-
- Before this however I wish to make one thing quite clear. Although
- this demo will run on a 1mb machine, you will need a minimum of 2mb of memory
- to run the full version. Since the birth of A500+/A600 with their 2mb
- memory capacity, (with trap door expansion) the programing to the 2mb
- standard has began and is becoming more and more popular with application
- software just as the programming to the 1mb memory standard became excepted
- two to three years ago. A 2mb memory will allow you to run ProCAD quite
- happily with no memory infringements.
-
- Many of you who will buy the full version from me will be as I was, a
- college / university student, and I can assure you that you will find this
- program a very valuable tool for giving you assignments the professional
- touch with good quality prints of schematics and PCB artworks that will
- ensure top marks!
-
- If you are a home electronics enthusiast ProCAD has just as much to
- offer you. It will allow you to produce clearly printed schematics for you
- to follow when building your circuits or constructing printed circuit board
- (PCB) layouts. If you like to build your projects on PCB's it will enable you
- to plan your PCB layouts in a far easier approach than you could possibly
- achieve on paper, further more it will enable you to produce clear prints of
- component and track layouts to assist you in producing PCB artworks or 1 off
- PCB's depending on how you work and your requirements. It is possible to
- obtain direct artworks by printing or photocopying onto transparencies,
- however this can be tricky and like me you may prefer to use artwork tapes
- and transfers for a higher quality PCB. In the full version of the ProCAD
- Users Guide I will give you my Wealth of experience in obtaining the best
- results form both artwork methods.
-
- If you are planing to use ProCAD for more commercial purposes then this
- program will help you in the same way as the people above, and there is no
- reason why ProCAD should not be used commercially. It will provided you with
- a sensibly priced alternative to the top end CAD packages available on the
- PC while saving you a small fortune!
-
- If you are going to be using ProCAD to design PCB's you will also need
- to buy the ProCAD Custom Library Creator (CLC) and PCB libraries disk. This
- disk will give you all the necessary component packages to design your own
- PCB layouts and the CLC will enable you to produces your own symbol libraries
- and brushes for use in ProCAD. With a new set of libraries ProCAD can become
- a new CAD tool for applications other than electronics if you wish!
-
- Well that's what ProCAD has to offer you. Now for a little history.
- ProCAD has been programmed in AMOS basic and compiled into machine language
- to optimise performance. All graphic were drawn using Deluxe Paint III.
-
- The full version of ProCAD is very near to completion and upon receiving
- my first orders (if not before) I will create the full version disks. Over
- the last few weeks both my self and my two beta testers have been testing
- ProCAD to ensure that this software meats a very high standard. We do not
- claim that this demo is 100% bug free, but we think that it is near it,
- if you find anything suspicious which you think could be a bug then please
- contact me. I plan to keep all full versions of ProCAD up to date, even in a
- after sale situation, any bug reported will be fixed. Finally one of my beta
- testers, Chris Firth has been kind enough to prepare a special 'Amiga Guide'/
- 'MultiView' fomat of the ProCAD users guide which will also be included on
- the full version disks.
-
- All that remains to be said now is, I hope you enjoy this demo and I
- look forward to hearing form you in the future.
-
-
- Thanking you one again for your interest in ProCAD Electronic.
-
-
- Derek Pell.
