  19. Getting Started
  20. ===============

  22. MapStation requires an Amiga with at least 1mb of ram to function properly. 
  23. The maximum size for the level buffer is set to 200k to allow it to
  24. function on Amigas with this memory configuration. If you fall into this 
  25. category you may find that you need to disable any external drives because
  26. Map-Station is very hungry on chip memory.

  28. To run MapStation do any of the following:
  29.  
  30.     1) Load the executable from the CLI/Shell. 
  31.        Type "MapStation.Exe".
  32.  
  33.     2) Load the executable from the Workbench.
  34.        Click on the MapStation.Exe icon.
  35.  
  36.     3) Load the program source code into a version of AMOS and then run it 
  37.        from the menu.

  40. How to use MapStation
  41. =====================

  43. MapStation contains an on-line help in the actual program which can be 
  44. activated by pressing the HELP key (surprise, surprise!). This contains a
  45. summary of the various commands available and states the purpose of each
  46. icon.

  48. Also included in the package is a documentation file containing a complete
  49. and detailed description of the program and all its available functions.

  52. Bug report
  53. ==========
  54.  
  55. There are no bugs in the program which are caused by myself. There are
  56. ,however, a couple of bugs that are introduced into the program by the
  57. compiler and which are not apparent in the version of the program run from
  58. Amos itself. These are both related to the Amos file requester and are:
  59.  
  60.     1) Cause:  Entry of a path name which doesn't exist
  61.        Result: Program either crashes or exits
  62.        
  63.     2) Cause:  Selection of a data-storage device which contains no
  64.                disk and then selecting the cancel icon from the
  65.            requester which appears.
  66.       Result:  Program either crashes or exits
  67.  
  68. As stated these bugs will never occur with the source code version of the
  69. program and only happen after compilation. This may only be a problem with
  70. my version of the compiler (V1.1) but I am informing you in-case it isn't.
