Transcription: Venus is the second planet from the Sun. As you can see in this side-by-side comparison, it's about the same size as Earth. Although it is not the closest planet to the Sun, it is the hottest planet in our solar system because of the thick atmosphere that surrounds it. This atmosphere contains a lot of carbon dioxide, which is, of course, a greenhouse gas. The rotation of Venus is interesting in at least two aspects. First, it's backwards as compared to Earth.
