Transcription: This animation illustrates the process of breathing. In order to fill our lungs, our diaphragm, the blue muscle in the animation, has to contract. That gives our lungs extra room and as a result they fill with air. In order to exhale, the diaphragm relaxes. This pushes on the lungs forcing them to get rid of the air that fills them.
