  1. EXPERIENCE HAWAII v1.1 README.TXT

  3. To install on a PC, start Windows, insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM 
  4. drive and choose File/Run from the Program Manager and type x:\SETUP 
  5. (where ôx:ö is the drive letter of your CD drive).  Follow the installation 
  6. instructions on the screen, then double-click on the Experience Hawaii 
  7. icon which has been installed in your Hawaii Program Group.

  9. To install on a Macintosh insert the CD-ROM into you CD-ROM drive and 
  10. select the Experience Hawaii icon from within the CD-ROM Hawaii folder 
  11. and DRAG AND DROP it to your hard drive, then double-click the Experience 
  12. Hawaii icon on your hard drive.

  41. Important Technical Information  (Before using this software 
  42. program)

  44. General Information:
  45. We recommend running with your Monitor settings at 640 X 480 Resolution 
  46. for full screen display when using Experience Hawaii.
  47.  
  48. Disable your Screen Savers.
  49. Running with 3rd party memory managers or Virtual Memory, ram 
  50. compression software and TSR programs is not supported.
  51. Running with Ram Doubler or Virtual Memory is not supported.
  52.  
  53. Maximizing Performance
  54. This program manipulates large amounts of graphical data.  To maximize 
  55. performance quit all other applications.  This will maximize the amount of 
  56. memory available to the program.  Performance will also be greatly 
  57. enhanced by the use of a double-speed, or faster, CD-ROM drive.
  58.  
  59. The default settings have been selected to be compatible with most 
  60. hardware configuration settings.  To improve performance on your PC you 
  61. can try changing the following settings in your QTW.INI  (QuickTime 
  62. Windows Information File).  Replace the following line item after the ô=ô 
  63. or add it to your QTW.INI file -

  68. Macintosh specific info:
  69. QuickTime 2.0 and SoundManager 3.0 should be installed on all Macintosh 
  70. systems (all previous versions should be removed before installing these 
  71. current versions).

  75. QuickTime 2.01 for Windows should be installed on all PC systems (all 
  76. previous versions should be removed before installing this current 
  77. version).
  78. If you are running a third party desktop program other than the Windows 
  79. Program Manager, you may experience problems installing the program.

  90. Video Driver and Board Compatibility information.
  91. Some video boards and drivers do not properly support all of the graphics 
  92. display functions required by Windows and consequently are not 
  93. supported by Experience Hawaii.  The following is a list of manufacturers

  143. particularly faulty functionality, erroneous color display or  even crashes, 
  144. you can try the following steps to resolve the problem:

  146. Make sure you are running the appropriate driver for your video card 
  147. (check Windows Setup in the "Main" Program Group).

  149. Make sure you are using a video driver with 256 colors.

  151. Make sure you have the latest version of your video board display driver 
  152. (contact your video board manufacturer for more information).
