- Ok, here's some more unblinking to be done...
-
- Turns out the info I put out in VICTORY.CUR applied to mostly HERCULES
- cards and teir clones... A bit hard to figure without a schematic, but
- with some help from Earl Hinrichs of PC-TECH I was able to unblink one
- of the noname-brand mono cards we use at work. It appears as if the
- method of blinking the cursor is about the same throughout. On the
- card I used (no idea what the name is but it's sold by CJ Computers in
- Anaheim), the circuit looks like this:
- PIN 19 of 6845 to 74LS174, pin 13 (input). Pin 12 (output) connected
- to pin 11 (input of a second FF inside the '174). Pin 10 (output) then
- goes to a 74LS21 and to pin 1 of a 74LS08. If you cut pin 2 of the '08,
- the cursor will stop dancing...
- If you have a stock IBM PC it should be easy since the tech manual
- contains a schematic... Just follow pin 19 of the 6845...
-
- Now, is anybody out there really interested in turning their blinking
- cursors off or am I just talking to myself?
