- Registering users now receive a Technical Reference Manual for
- SIO. In addition to being a programmers reference manual, the
- Technical Reference Manual documents some advanced features of
- SIO that are not documented in the Users Manual. Currently
- registered users that wish to receive the SIO Technical Reference
- Manual should order the "Upgrade on disk", see ORDER.TXT.
-
- The basic "no disk" registration option has been eliminated and
- the price for the driver set has been reduced. VX00 is no longer
- charged for separately. For those that think $25 is too much to
- pay for the best comm driver available for OS/2, then just for
- you, the price is $20 plus $5 shipping and handling.
-
- Thanks to Guy Scharf, sysop of the OS/2 Vendor Forum on
- CompuServe (GO OS2AVEN), SIO is now supported in section one
- (Other Vendors) of that Forum. You can enter support questions
- about SIO in section 1 of the OS2AVEN Forum and be fairly assured
- of a response. Messages entered into the Forum concerning SIO
- should be addressed to 71154,575.
-
- This release of SIO supports PCMCIA communications ports, which
- are removable. Many comm application programs are not able to
- cope with comm ports being removed while they are active. Thus,
- the results of removing a PCMCIA modem while a comm application
- program is still active is unpredictable. If you must remove
- your modem while a comm programs is active, and if you do not
- like the results, contact the comm application program's support
- department (not me).
-
- Developers that wish to add PCMCIA modem support to their
- applications, a free developer tool is available to registering
- SIO users and upgrading SIO users.
-
- The PCMCIA simulation tool is only sent on disk. Previously
- registered users must order an upgrade on disk (see
- ORDER.TXT) to receive the PCMCIA simulation tool.
-
- If you are registering SIO for the first time then simply
- specify that you want the PCMCIA simulation tool with you
- order.
-
- This release of SIO has an updated REREG.EXE. Registered users
- should use the included REREG.EXE to apply registration
- information to downloaded versions of SIO.
-
- As of August 20, 1993, all registered users have been sent
- registered versions of SIO either on disk or via Email. If more
- than two weeks has passed since you registered SIO and you have
- not received a registered version, something is wrong. Please
- contact us if you have registered SIO and not received a
- registered version.

- Note that my Internet address has changed to p00321@psilink.com.
- Additionally, I am using a new CompuServe ID of 71154,575. I
- will continue to use the old CompuServe ID for a while.
