- ┌──────────────────────────┴─────────────┴───────────────────────────┐
- │ If you used previous version of NETDAY to modify an Environment │
- │ variable with the current netmail day, please see the discussion │
- │ of the /SE parameter below. The method of which NETDAY sets the │
- │ environment variable has changed, an additional batch file is no │
- │ longer needed, the master environment is now modified directly. │
- └────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
-
- ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- History
- ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
-
- 07-19-92 Ver 1.0 Initial Release
- 08-01-92 Ver 1.1 Added ability to specify a date on the
- command line. NETDAY will display the
- netmail day for the date you select.
- The default is today's date.
- 08-15-92 Ver 1.2 An accidental release. This version
- accidentily got the version 1.1 EXE
- into the archive. The changes that
- were supposed to be in version 1.2 are
- actually in version 1.3
- 08-17-92 Ver 1.3 Added ability to run the program in
- "interactive mode". NETDAY will display
- an interactive menu via a /I on the
- command line that allows you to specify
- the date you would like to list the
- NETMAIL date for. This request was per
- Steven Wright of 064/200.
- 10-07-92 Ver 1.4 Added ability to set an environment
- variable NMAIL$ with the current Netmail
- Julian Date. In order to do this however
- NETDAY *MUST* be run in a batch file named
- SETNETDY.BAT which *MUST* reside in your
- GTPATH directory. In order to activate
- this feature place a /SE (set environment)
- on the NETDAY command line. (The SETNETDY.BAT
- file will be created for you) Now anytime that
- you wish to update the NMAIL$ environment
- variable just run SETNETDY. NETDAY will update
- the batch file accordingly and set the variable
- via the batch file. DO NOT put anything else
- in this batch file, NETDAY erases this file
- and builds a new one each time the /SE option
- is used. Keep in mind that the /SE option is
- completely useless unless NETDAY is run from
- the SETNETDY.BAT file.
- 10-18-92 Ver 1.5 Corrected a problem with the /REGISTER option.
- NETDAY was putting invalid DATE and TIME
- information into the Netmail Message Header
- that was being sent.
- 11-07-92 Ver 1.6 NETDAY will now accept an echomail conference
- number from the command line and report on
- the number of days old that particular echo
- is. The Syntax is NETDAY Exx/xxx.
- 11-15-92 Ver 1.7 NETDAY now puts the Day Of The Week as part of
- the report that goes to the screen. Requested
- by Mr. Red Gambrell.
- 11-17-92 Ver 1.8 Bug Fix release. Version 1.7 was having a
- problem reading dates from the year 2000 and
- above from the command line and from the /I
- interactive mode. Fixed.
- 5-29-93 Ver 1.9 Version 1.9 Allows you to specify the name
- of the Environment Variable that you are
- setting. See /SE: described below.
- 6-13-93 Ver 2.0 Version 2.0 will trap an invalid date that
- has been caused by CMOS Setup loss. If the
- date 1-1-80 is found the program will inform
- you to that fact and WILL NOT reset a Julian
- Date environment variable.
- 9-04-93 Ver 2.1 Version 2.1 no longer requires you to run a
- batch file to set an environment variable.
- NETDAY will now find the master environment
- and set the appropriate value for you without
- the use of the SETNETDY.BAT file. See /SE:
- for further information.
-
- ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- What is It?
- ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- What in the heck is NETDAY? NETDAY is a little utility that
- will display the current Netmail (Julian) Date, or any date
- you choose to put on the command line. That's all it does,
- but it does it quickly and easily.
-
- ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- Why Is It?
- ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- You may be asking about now, Why would you want to do this?
- It's simple. Did you ever wonder what the current Netmail
- Day was in reference to how old one of your echos was? Now
- you can do it......
-
- ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- Execution..
- ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- Running the program is very easy. Place NETDAY anywere in
- the DOS Path, and then you can type NETDAY at any time to get
- the current Netmail Date. If you prefer to get the Netmail
- day of a future date or previous date, put the date on the
- command line. For example....
-
- NETDAY 10-08-90
-
- produces:
-
- ╔══════════════════════════════╗
- ║ Calender Date ║
- ║ Thursday 10-08-1992 ║
- ║ ║
- ║ Netmail Day ║
- ║ 2107 ║
- ╚Vx.x══════════════════HOTware═╝
-
-
- If you prefer to have an interactive program try this.....
-
- NETDAY /I
-
- this adds a new twist to the program.....
-
-
-
- If you would like to know how many days old a particular echo
- that you are carrying is you can put the echo conference number
- on the NETDAY command line. As an example...
-
- NETDAY E02/507
-
- will report to you the age of E02/507 on your system.
-
-
-
- NETDAY also has the ability to set/modify an environment variable,
- the default is NMAIL$, with the current GT Julian date. NETDAY
- will modify the master environment and add or update the existing
- varialbe for you. In order to use this feature use the /SE (set
- environment) command line parameter as follows.
-
- NETDAY /SE
-
- If you would like to use a variable rather than NMAIL$ you may
- specify it after the /SE command, seperated by a ':'. Here is an
- example: To set an Environment Variable JDAY you would use:
-
- NETDAY /SE:JDAY
-

- Registration
- ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
-
- I am not requesting any money for this program, but I would
- appreciate knowing that you are running the program on a normal
- basis. Therefore I have provided a simple and easy way for
- you to register this program. From the dos prompt type:
-
-
- NETDAY REGISTER
-
- NETDAY will the proceed to send me a netmail message informing me
- that you are using the program. Please use this feature ONCE.
