  9. Kix is an arcade style video game for the PC similar to the old Taito
  10. arcade game Qix.  Using your stylus, you attempt to draw areas on the
  11. game board without getting caught by the Kix or other opponents.  You
  12. complete a level after you have claimed a certain percentage of the
  13. total board.  Higher levels have wilder Kix;  eventually you must deal
  14. with two Kix!  Requires a fast 286 PC or better with VGA.  Support for
  15. keyboard and joystick control with PC speaker sound effects included.

  19. This program is FREEWARE and is released into the public domain.  It may
  20. be freely distributed so long as the original archive file nor any of its
  21. contents are modified in any way.

  23. Installation:

  25. Create a directory for the program files, e.g.:  mkdir \games\kix.  Using
  26. PKZIP 2.04g, unzip the program files into the directory just created.
  27. Then, type kix to begin.  YOUR CURRENT DIRECTORY MUST BE WHERE THE
  28. PROGRAM FILES HAVE BEEN INSTALLED.  If all goes well, the main menu will
  29. be displayed which contains information on configuring the program and
  30. setting options.

  34. One of the nice features of the program is to display background images
  35. when you uncover pieces of the board.  These images are available in
  36. another archive called KIXBACK.ZIP which should be available wherever you
  37. obtained the main program files.
