- SKWISHY ANIMATION
- -----------------
-
-
- This animation was created in order to demonstrate how easy it is to use our
- beloved AMIGA to create animation entirely within the machine. The character
- 'SKWISHY' first materialised as part of an animation tutorial in the June 1996
- issue of Amiga Shopper Magazine. I used skwishy to show how a character can be
- created and animated using just the drawing tools of a program like Deluxe
- Paint.
-
- I also wanted a character that would emphasise the basic animation techniques
- such as 'squash and stretch'. Skwishy ( really a variation of the 'bouncing
- ball') uses the aforementioned technique to great effect as he jumps around.
- I decided to use other cartoony devices like the 'double take' where Skwishy
- first sets eyes on Missy Skwishy to give a certain typical animated cartoon
- feel. Skwishy, in design, could be said to be my homage to early animated
- cartoon characters.
-
- If you are just beginning to animate on the AMIGA then you may already have
- found out that animation uses LOTS of memory. There really is no alternative
- other than to upgrade your machine by purchasing a memory expansion. Look on
- the bright side, memory SIMMS have dropped in price by half in the last month
- or so.
-
- I had intended to add sound to Skwishy but sound, unfortunately, is not present
- on this version due to time restraints.
-
- I hope you enjoy the animation and, above all, are inspired to have a go.
- The AMIGA is a superb animation tool. When I first started in animation I had to
- wait two weeks to see the results of my labours on film!
-
- Have FUN,
-
- Dale.
