- DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE
-
- Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before buying it.
- If you try a Shareware program and continue using it, you are expected to
- register. With registration, you get anything from the simple right to
- continue using the software to an updated program with a printed manual.
-
- Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and commercial software, and the
- copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific exceptions as
- stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished programmers, just like
- commercial authors, and the programs are of comparable quality. (in both
- cases , there are good and bad ones!) The main difference is in the method of
- distribution. The author specifically grants the right to copy and distribute
- the software, either to all and sunfry or to a specific group.
-
- Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You should find
- software that suits your needs and pocketbook, whether it's commercial or
- Shareware. The Shareware system makes fitting your needs easier, because you
- can try before you buy. And because the overhead is low, prices are low also.
- Shareware has the ultimate money-back guarantee -- if you don't use the
- product, you don't pay for it.
-

- Readme file belonging to Time.zip
-
- What do the programs do:
-
- TM.NLM and TS.NLM, both names stand for the following:
-
- TM ----> Time Master ( a Novell file server with TM.NLM loaded )
- TS ----> Time Slave ( any other Novell file server with TS.NLM loaded )
-
-
- Why?
-
- In the internetwork it is sometimes crucial to applications that the
- file server they are running on have the same time/date stamp. These NLM's do
- exactly that, They synchronise there time to the time of the T(ime) M(aster).
-
- The master will set the time and all other file servers in the internet
- will synchronise to it. This implies that there is 1 TM(aster) and the rest
- are TS(laves).
-
- How to use and Invoke the programs.
-
- Time Master:
-
- load TM Default mode
- load TM verbose NLM prints a message if the time has been
- sent to a slave (TS)
-
-
- Time Slave:
-
- load TS Default mode
- load TS verbose Print message if time has been synchronized
- load TS dummy <time> <time> is the wait time in between the time
- queries (default is 5 minutes). You will
- have to use the word 'dummy' and after that
- the time in milliseconds.
-
- If the NLM/s are invoked with the parameter '/?' the usage will be displayed
- on the console.
-
- Both NLM's have been thorouhgly tested in NetWare 3.10 and 3.11, no
- problems occured.
