  5. Printing from Nondedicated File Servers

  7.      It has been found that version 2.01 of Lotus 1-2-3 (and subsequent
  8. releases) will not print from a nondedicated file server to a network printer.
  9. (This is true for all versions of nondedicated Netware.)
  10.  
  11.      Prior to a printing operation, Lotus will check the equipment list to see
  12. that a printer is available.  Because the printer port has been defined as a
  13. network printer, the equipment list is cleared.  A SPOOL command must be 
  14. issued before any applications can print.  Any applications, such as BASIC,
  15. that check for the presence of the printer will see that none are available
  16. according to the equipment list and will not allow printing to occur.

  18.      By running "PRFIX.COM" prior to entering the application, the equipment
  19. list will be modified to show that a printer is available and allow the 
  20. application to print.  Remember that a SPOOL command must be entered before 
  21. the PRFIX command is entered.
