  1. SYTOS/PKZIP BACKUP PROCEDURE

  6. This is a simple combination of two commonly used utilities-
  7. Sytron Corporations' SY-TOS tape operating system and PKWAREs'
  8. PKZIP file compression utility.  Combining the two creates a very
  9. powerful backup utility.

  11. These files should be placed in the same directory as SY-TOS.

  20.   Drive Mappings-

  22.     G: = SYS:
  23.     H: = SYS2:  (2nd volume)
  24.     I: = SYS3:  (3rd volume)
  25.     J: = SYS4:  (4th volume)
  26.     K: = SYS5:  (5th volume)
  27.     L: = SYS6:  (6th volume)
  28.     M: = SYS7:  (7th volume)
  29.     N: = SYS8:  (8th volume)
  30.     O: = Mapped to Bat file / Menu file directory
  31.     P: = Mapped to Sytos directory

  34. Create a user profile called "BACKUP" or something similar.
  35. Grant Read-Open-Search rights to the root directory of all your volumes.
  36. Profile will also need Write rights on SYS to create ZIP files, and whatever
  37. directory SYTOS is located in if installed on a Network drive.
  38. For added security restrict BACKUP profile to the node(s) having tape drive(s).
