  2. To my knowledge, the software included does NOT violate any licence
  3. agreements or copyright laws. You can check that for yourself since I've
  4. included the original licences. There's no need for FTP site administrators
  5. or BBS sysops to delete this archive.

  7. What is this anyway?
  8. --------------------

  10. With the contents of this archive file, you can use the Internet Access Kit
  11. included with regular Warp (Red box and Blue box) on your Local Area Network,
  12. e.g. Ethernet. Normally, you can use the IAK only on a serial dial up line
  13. with the Slip or PPP protocol.

  15. But there's a catch.
  16.  
  17. You need one other file which isn't included in this archive: IFNDIS.SYS.
  18. This file is included in a CSD ("bugfix") of IBM TCP/IP 2.0 The CSD can be
  19. found on almost every OS/2 FTP site or OS/2 BBS around the globe. But you're
  20. only allowed to use it if you are a licenced owner of that software. At
  21. least, that is what my common sense tells me. The licence on IBM's FTP site
  22. (there was no licence included with the CSD itself) is not very clear.
  23. Again, this archive file itself is not illegal.

  25. If you are a licenced owner of IBM TCP/IP 2.0, Warp Connect, Lantastic etc.,
  26. this archive file is probably not very useful to you. After all, you're
  27. already able to connect to your LAN.

  29. If you are not a licenced owner and you do NOT want to violate any copyright
  30. laws, then don't use this archive file. You are not violating any laws by
  31. having this archive file, but it is useless without the CSD. I do respect
  32. your honesty. If you still want to get on the net, buy Warp Connect (or else
  33. download Linux for example, it's free).

  35. If you are not a licenced owner and you
  36.  - don't really care that much about copyright laws
  37.  - or if you're willing to take the "risk" of IBM raiding your house
  38.  - or if you are really pissed off at IBM that they charge you that much
  39.    for an upgrade to Warp Connect while you don't need all the bells
  40.    and whistles in Connect
  41.  
  42. then this stuff is for you. It's strictly your own decision if you want to
  43. use/download the CSD or not. I do not encourage or discourage you to do so.
