- G/Ethernet MC File Server Drivers for Advanced NetWare v2.1 or v2.11
- --------------------------------------------------------------------
- The G/Ethernet MC Micro Channel adapter - for the IBM Models 50, 60, and
- Model 80-16Mhz PS/2 systems.
-
- If you have a 20Mhz Model 80, you will need a special driver from the
- Gateway's BBS called 8020FS21.ARC.
-
- You should be using NetWare 286/2 for PS/2 in order to install a
- G/Ethernet MC adapter in the file server.
-
- Special instructions for the G/Ethernet MC Micro Channel Adapter
- ================================================================
-
- In addition to the file server and workstation drivers, a special PS/2
- ADF file must be used when installing the micro channel adapter.
-
- This file is called @6018.ADF, and must be copied onto your working
- copy of the IBM Reference disk.
-
- Boot the PS/2 computer with the working copy of the reference disk in
- drive A: of the IBM PS/2 system. Please see full instructions in the
- IBM PS/2 Installation Manual.
-
- When running NETGEN or SHGEN on Advanced NetWare for the PS/2, the hardware
- configuration options will read [Use PS/2 Auto Config for Slot x], "x" being
- the slot number in the PS/2. This means that the G/Ethernet adapter must
- be in slot "x" of the PS/2 bus. Use the arrows to select the configuration
- that you want to use.
-
- Generating the File Server Drivers
- ----------------------------------
- Step 1: Copy the GEMCOS.LAN file to the AUXGEN diskette. This file points
- to the diskette that contains the G/Ethernet drivers (LAN_DRV_207).
-
- Step 2: Format a floppy diskette with the volume name of LAN_DRV_207
-
- FORMAT a: /v
-
- or name the diskette after format with the DOS LABEL command.
-
- You will be prompted to insert this diskette during NETGEN.
-
- Step 3: Copy the ?GETHERMC.OBJ files to the diskette LAN_DRV_207.
-
- Step 4: Run NETGEN and select the correct driver from the list of LAN
- adapter options to generate the file server operating system.
-
- It is very important to label the driver diskette LAN_DRV_207
- because the NETGEN and SHGEN procedures will ask for the driver
- diskette by name.
-
- Refer to the NetWare v2.11 Installation Manual for file server
- and workstation installation procedures.
