  2. G/Ethernet MC File Server Drivers for Advanced NetWare v2.1 or v2.11
  3. --------------------------------------------------------------------
  4. The G/Ethernet MC Micro Channel adapter - for the IBM Models 50, 60, and
  5. Model 80-16Mhz PS/2 systems.  
  6.  
  7. If you have a 20Mhz Model 80, you will need a special driver from the
  8. Gateway's BBS called 8020FS21.ARC.
  9.  
  10. You should be using NetWare 286/2 for PS/2 in order to install a 
  11. G/Ethernet MC adapter in the file server.
  12.  
  13. Special instructions for the G/Ethernet MC Micro Channel Adapter
  14. ================================================================

  16. In addition to the file server and workstation drivers, a special PS/2
  17. ADF file must be used when installing the micro channel adapter.  
  18.  
  19. This file is called @6018.ADF, and must be copied onto your working 
  20. copy of the IBM Reference disk. 
  21.  
  22. Boot the PS/2 computer with the working copy of the reference disk in 
  23. drive A: of the IBM PS/2 system.  Please see full instructions in the 
  24. IBM PS/2 Installation Manual.

  26. When running NETGEN or SHGEN on Advanced NetWare for the PS/2, the hardware
  27. configuration options will read [Use PS/2 Auto Config for Slot x], "x" being
  28. the slot number in the PS/2.  This means that the G/Ethernet adapter must
  29. be in slot "x" of the PS/2 bus.  Use the arrows to select the configuration
  30. that you want to use.

  32. Generating the File Server Drivers
  33. ----------------------------------
  34. Step 1:     Copy the GEMCOS.LAN file to the AUXGEN diskette.  This file points
  35.      to the diskette that contains the G/Ethernet drivers (LAN_DRV_207).

  37. Step 2:     Format a floppy diskette with the volume name of LAN_DRV_207
  38.  
  39.      FORMAT a: /v
  40.  
  41.      or name the diskette after format with the DOS LABEL command.
  42.  
  43.      You will be prompted to insert this diskette during NETGEN.

  45. Step 3:  Copy the ?GETHERMC.OBJ files to the diskette LAN_DRV_207.  
  46.          
  47. Step 4:  Run NETGEN and select the correct driver from the list of LAN
  48.          adapter options to generate the file server operating system.
  49.  
  50.      It is very important to label the driver diskette LAN_DRV_207 
  51.      because the NETGEN and SHGEN procedures will ask for the driver 
  52.          diskette by name.
